Sitting here doing research as I do most nights. I looked at my arm (sleeve is a little tight as this is a shirt I haven’t worn in 2-3 years) and noticed that my arm looks better in the shirt than in a tank top. The more I stared at it I had a realization. 1) my arm is the same but my perception of it is different. Like finding the right style of dress to accentuate your finer point. 2) I look just like those young teenage boys who come strutting into the gym with their too tight shirts they wear just to make their arms look bigger.

So the next picture I post will probably have me in a fitted shirt with tight sleeves. 🤣 In all honesty, just like those young men, I need to lose a bit of fat off the arms before they’ll even slightly look more muscular 🤨.

Pepperjj, do you have weights at home?? maybe you can pick up some cheap ones if you don't so you can do a little work at home inbetween gym visits. I find my mind stays calmer after I do a work out. You don't need fancy full bars, but something at a decent weight to help build lean muscle. I was considering getting some until I got my total gym, that helps me with a more varied muscle routine.

I have small weights ranging from 1-11 lbs. Some have broken so have only one of certain weights. They are old, the plastic kind with foam and stiff inside. I have a shiny new set of blue 8# weights I’m using currently. Since the upper body machines are 15-30 for me I figured 16 would be a good start. Have a set of plastic 11s I can move up to. Hubby has a bar and weights. I’m currently using it with (2) 10# weights (unsure of bar weight but guessing 10). I’m using it for curls, hip thrusts for core and on squats. I tried what I think is a deadlift with 70# on the bar. I can do that several times but there is NO curling with it when I straighten up lol. I do that stuff once a week at home when I can get it from hubby. Easy to change just have to be careful with kids running around so that I don’t smack them with it unintentionally. I also have a new jump rope and a balance ball. The ball is the hardest as I’ve lost much of my balance over the last two years.

Look forward too see how a shirt works out in a photo. Always something new to learn, and I love that. My 'gym' is just a plain flat bench and dumbbells. Plenty enough for the level I'm at. Number one priority is to learn to love this simple equipment. Can leave more advanced stuff for another year.
