Day 1 of a planned 2 day OMAD (One Meal A Day)

Blood sugar 82 mg/dL

👍🏾 Did I keep my net carbs below 10? Yes!
👎🏾 Is my morning blood sugar in the 70s? No

🤸🏾‍♂️ I LOVE Carbs!

High consumption of them WILL make me fat (I have the numbers to prove it), but they are required for me to 🏋🏾 ‘lift heavy’ (and they taste great 😊!) I did not actually plan it, but I ended up consuming nearly 300 carbs on Wednesday. This is nearly a months’ worth of my normal carb intake. I had planned to go to the gym on Thursday anyway, so I decide to put my, now glycogen filled muscle cells, to good use and increased my weights by 20lbs for most of my lifts.

📉 Previous (three sets of):

Squat - 160lbs (10 reps)
Deadlift – 160lbs (6 reps)
Shrug - 160lbs (10 reps)
Ab Crunch - 120lbs (10 reps)
Bench Press - 85lbs (10 reps)

📈 Yesterday (three sets of):

Squat - 180lbs (10 reps)
Deadlift – 180lbs (6 reps)
Shrug - 180lbs (10 reps)
Ab Crunch - 140lbs (10 reps)
Bench Press - 90lbs (10 reps)

😎 Basically I hit a HUGE milestone for me. For the first time ever in my life: ** I lifted more than my own weight **

💪🏾 I put a bar on my shoulder, that was loaded with weight that was 10lbs heavier than myself, and did 30 squats. I then deadlifted it 18 times, and then followed it up with 30 shoulder shrugs. A year ago I would have a hard time even lifting 100lbs!

🧘🏾‍♂️ Lifting weight is not like losing weight, I am ‘growing’ and ‘gaining strength. This is such a “positive” process where instead of looking thinner and thinner I am trying to make my body ‘grow’. Now, there is no end in sight, because I am just getting started.

Have a great day everyone!

Ah but you are so good. You have a plan to undo some of the damage. I spiraled last night and I have that ”screw it” attitude right now... 😒

@CrashtestDawnie - The 'screw it' will pass. All things pass. But, you may have noticed I am 'surrendering' more and 'letting more things go'. I simply cannot 'control my eating'. If I start the day is done. I surrender to that. Today, is no solid food. Yes, I will have too much protein powder, but, I will not have another 300 carb day.

You are very right. It will pass. Probably by Monday 😅 If the worst thing you do is consume too much protein you are doing a hell of a lot better than me! I’m only at 48 grams protein with 128 grams of carbs right now! 😳🤫 but that’s okay 🤷‍♀️

In a way I am also “letting go” and accepting my nature (while menstrating) My struggle is; I don’t want that to be my nature. I want to always be in control

@CrashtestDawnie - "I want to always be in control..." Yes, that is what it is really about for us, isn't it? I now see that as an expression of the 'fear' that is (always) in me. On way to get past the things I fear is to try to 'control' things around me. OR I can get past the fear by 'accepting' everything and everybody. I actually accepted that I would have to just keep going on fad diet after fad diet to keep from gaining any 'more' weight, but gave up actually hitting my BMI. I found fasting by 'accident'. But, so many other things in my life I try to 'control'. Never works, because I'm really not able to control anything including myself. The more I 'surrender' the more I win.

Wise words my friend. Accepting yourself, flaws and all is really the key to happiness. We really have very little control over anything in life. I think that is why I fight with myself so much; if there is anything I can control- myself, should be it LOL! I also think my biggest fear of accepting my flaws is that I could accept them too much and return to my former 200 pound self 😓

@CrashtestDawnie - This is exactly how I feel. I have never been over 5'5" and less than 180lbs. Losing this would 'break my heart'. But, I-Am-Not-God I REALLY don't have control over anything. If I become injured, what would could I do then? When I can, I just try to just feel Gratitude that we are having this conversation right now at our current weight... :)
