Incline rows?!? What the? Okay Chris, what is the gap of time between sets? Did you say 45 seconds?

I KNEW you meant "rows" as in weight work...but then someone mentioned the rowing machine so I chimed in because it is awesome total body work. I suspect you need not do any cardio because you are trying to bulk...not cut.

Just as a point of interest Could you conduct an experiment for me? Could you perform a fitness benchmark test for me(any their are alot out there) then redo the same test at the end of 2019. After putting on 8-10kg of muscle(or whatever you stack on this year) don't confuse stronger with fitter mate. I know as soon as Jan hits and I start weight training again my fitness will suffer. This month of not weight training has improved general fitness dramatically.

Even if you lose a little in favor of another. I don't really care if I can't row for an hour, I'd rather look like a brick House hahaha! I was looking smallish when I was running. My strength suffered greatly. It's a balancing game and I am currently looking better and I went from benching 225 for 5 reps to 225 for 20. That's a huge increase. I have nothing against cardio. I will most likely start running again in case my buddies wanna do another tough mudder next year. I'll wait until the spring though. I definitely won't run as far. 3-5 miles will be good.

And like Chris said, they are not mutually exclusive. Would you call a 200 pound NFL running back unfit? You can definitely balance fitness and strength. I still think I can run 10 miles non-stop but I guess that wouldn't be fit enough for you? Is it all or nothing?

I meant to say fitness and size.

You simply have to eat a lot more. I am averaging 3700 calories just to maintain my size without the running. If I ran on top I'd have to eat 4500. It's doable. 😁

Yeah stonger vs fitter is a huge thing at my gyms at the moment. All these big boys are starting to see what I'm doing(full planche pushups get their attention) and they can't do them. I would rather be fit over strong, I'm not right or wrong but I can recognise the difference.

Once size hinders physical movement it plays a huge effect on what the body can/can't do. Strength vs mobility is probably another take on same argument here. I'll put up a few examples later, I have a few on old phone. Would be very interested to see you run a fitness benchmark, then run one again next year aswell mate. You plan on getting bigger yeah? If it was possible would you take the strength without the size? Or is looking big a part of the appeal?

I just don't have the interest. I want to get as big as possible for a natural. I suspect I'm not far from my limit. You don't have the interest to bench 350 pounds and I don't have an interest in doing a planche or whatever, lol. Besides a lot of what you described just takes practice. I've seen people on youtube that are my size or bigger doing all kinds of incredible things. Again, some size and fitness are not mutually exclusive. You're still a novice, you may one day see that you can add size and still do what you do.

And yeah, looking big is the largest appeal. Strength is a bonus and if I cared about flexibility I'd do yoga.

Also, the whole size hindering movement thing is only really applicable to people on steroids. I'm no bigger than Jean Claude Van Damme in his prime and he was most likely more flexible than you. Also, you try your best to make muscularity seem like a bad thing. In my opinion, visual aesthetics and strength are more important than whatever you can do. This is going in circles and we'll never agree. Different goals. I don't want to be smaller and weaker.

I'm just more practical i guess, I take function over form all day everyday. If you believe that size is not a hindrance in movement then you are flat out wrong lmao. Is a Cadillac as maneuverable as a lotus? Size hinders movement that's not up for debate

You understand one person's 'function' may not be up to anothers standard? You may be able to row for an hour but a larger person would be able to fold you into a pretzel lol. Matter of opinion. I don't want to climb a mountain lol. I can do things you can't and vice versa. To shit on others goals because they don't line up with yours with your very opinionated views and your 'lmaos' is just shitty. I can bench press 45 pounds above my body weight 20 times. You can row for an hour. Different goals. This place is for encouragement in reaching each other's goals not to slam each other but since you want to go there, I don't want to be small and weak. Cool?

2 years in and he is an expert on nutrition and is the authority on fitness. :P And if you don't agree, you just aren't practical. :D

Hahaha Why you getting frustrated mate? I'm not slamming anyone's goals. I'm simply getting out other views. I know you couldn't climb a mountain that's a no brainer, I know you can lift big things. I know what I'd rather be able to do 😉
11 Dec 18 by member: keith george cooke
You really don't like people who's views differ lmao. Chris mate, if you can do the benchmark tests that would be rad? A diet that excludes food groups is the same as a exercise program that excludes certain exercises. Anyone who wants to improve their general health and well being but won't get on a rowing machine is doing it for vanity and nothing else hahahahaha.

Because of little comments like that. It's plain to see that you love to troll. Mate. So if you gained 10 pounds of muscle it would be a no-brainer that you couldn't climb a mountain? No? Then why say that about me? Just to troll. Admit that at least.

Not a troll but definitely try to stir up discussion.
