Day Thirteen and the Stand-Off at Plateau Prison continues as the Sunbeam Scale de Sade maintains it's firmly gripped scientifically defiant hold on the Red Needle Squadron.

Prior to receiving the underground messages with suggestions of indulgence, spiking, cycling, cheating and treating from others last night the Freedom Fighters staged an impromptu coup d'état by passing on their freshly prepared spinach salad in lieu of a cheeseburger for the midday chow.

Unfortunately, the usurpers were less than 100% committed. They failed to establish their dominance and the mission flopped. The intentional dish of decadence morphed into a pathetic presentation of portion defiance rather than calorically challenging. Not only did grilling replace frying and fat free mayo and low-cal cheese replaced 'the real deal', tater tots were tossed aside for sliced dill pickles.

Triumph was replaced with disgust and discomfort from portion overload. The feeling of being of 'far too full' lingered for hours. Not only did outerwear feel tighter the interior felt constricted. The afternoon passed slowly with the entire camp on quiet tiptoe to avoid waking the Princess of Purge.

The Red Needle Squadron has regrouped and is better planning a second rebellion attempt this weekend. They now realize the indulgence spike must be comprised of high calorie foods introduced in smaller portions. The phrases 'pacing' and 'chocolate cheesecake' have been whispered along the grapevine.

Fueled by the display of indecision yesterday the Scale de Sade decided to enlist their low life Partner of Pain this morning in effort to knock the Trustee off the Treadmill but their combined efforts proved futile. While the SOS pounded out in Morse Code was initially slower the Trustee recovered completed a full session.

We will not be deterred. Our Resolve is stronger than our Rivals.

Stay tuned.

Keeping focused despite a lack of positive results is a tough task but you are handling the pressure well - that is, unless your tale wasn't written with tongue-in-cheek humor because then I'd just have to say you've gone off the deep end! LOL. Hang in there - something's gotta give!

I am sorry to hear that you are in pain, but pleased that you are keeping with your treadmill regimen! Much better than I on sticking tothe daily exercise! Another thought to add to last night - maybe the plateau is due to muscle gain from the treadmill? It has been 3 weeks of solid commitment from you!

I was told by a member of the British Armed forces that when a soldier has weight to lose the diet they prescribe (for a woman the men get a bit more) involves alternating between 800cal days & 1600 cal days with the odd 1200 day in between & that this prevents plateauxs, he also told me that as your fitness improves the more likely a plateau is because your body isn't shocked by the excercise the way it once was & that the cure for that is to try an excercise that uses completely different muscle groups. Don't know if you can work either of those ideas into the plan but neither of them can do any harm. You are doing very well still sticking at it despite the enemies.

Can't think of anyone I'd rather have on my side of a battle than you, Bella! Instead of your normal angel, you may have to call on the devil in you (if there is such a thing) to fend off the bad guys! But I know you, & you are a fighter... & a winner, so in the end, the good will prevail! So, don't throw in the flag yet! We're all cheering for you! xoxox

Hey Bella - I know you were on a downward roll and all... but a plateau takes weeks to even recognize you're in one! Steady that ship...and keep on truckin'! I (personally) would not be so quick to mess w/ success... you were losing regularly - you're body took a week pause to recalibrate itself... and now you're introducing all kinds of changes... this should be interesting to see how this turns out. You've got my attention... Much Love.

(In a Simpson's Nelson tone): Ha ha! You suck at eating unhealthy! LOL. I know, it's hard to suddenly do all the things you're normally NOT supposed to do, but over-indulging once really does convince our inner cave(wo)man that we are not starving, and it will get us going. Try again! Make it a proper whopping day. If you don't get to where you consume MORE than you burn, then it's pointless. Seriously. I'll be looking forward to hearing about attempt #2.
