Can’t remember when to have pre workout meal so I loaded up with 4 protein pancakes just now. Late lunch! They are actually pretty good for a thrown together mash of recipes haha. Will see if the kodiak cakes are any good. Got those plus their baking mix. The brownies were too high calorie for me plus $8 a mix for 12 was too much lol. So was the pancakes but I’ll give them a try at least.

Let’s see how my workout is later. I’ll start in 3hours 15 minutes :D. Will also have a protein shake with bcaa and creatine. Still don’t see a big difference in muscle size BUT the last 5 reps at 90 and the other 25 at 75 on the row machine was good for the ego lol. Perhaps strength is coming up quicker than size. I’ll go back to 60 today as I was at 40 just a couple weeks ago. Don’t want to do too much too fast. Maybe 75 on the last set. No 90 though as my back finally feels decent again lol. Shoulder still hurts but that’s a daily thing so no biggie.

Enjoy your day everyone!

I've tried with or without meal prior workout, and it seems like my endurance get enhanced with a meal. Easy earned, easy spent kind of thing, energy wise.

Having a meal is always better unless it's so big that it makes you sluggish. I just had some Kodiak cakes for my preworkout meal. Delicious. Real syrup of course.

Hope they do too Manley. Diddlee, my endurance left me! I believe I ate too soon. I had a protein bar before hand as well. It was a frustrating evening with depression acting up. I forced myself through the work though. However, I upped weights a bit and just did 4-10. Basically whatever I could do so I could do less reps but more weights. Kept row at 75, went from 50 to 70 on the torso machine, kept hips the same at 100&120, did bench and curl machines rather than free weights, went down on triceps on third set... you get the idea. Just glad I went as hubby finally said we could just stay home since it was a rough evening. I felt bad and couldn’t make him skip so we went lol.

Diablo, hubby is having trouble some days getting his protein in. I figured we could have breakfast for dinner one night and make the cakes with eggs. Today I whipped up gluten free banana oat protein pancakes. Not sure if the powder was gluten free but the first recipe for banana oat pancakes was. Then I didn’t want coconut oil so had to find another using butter. Then added my powder. Two recipes plus me guessing on powder lol. They weren’t great, but, as I don’t like pancakes, I found them to be okay. Both younger kiddos, 5&10, each and 3 so I guess they liked them. Sugar free syrup all the way for me! The maple is just too sweet. Odd for someone with my sweet tooth to thing syrup is sweet lol.
