1000+ calories/day of surplus was working fine for awhile, but adding the whole milk, cashews, and other fats has caused my bodyfat % to go up this week... back to the 1% milk :(

My only argument is that fat can be lost even if glycogen stores are full. I think we're on the same page.

@Diablo. Agreed, the body always will burn fats, but not as much in an extreme carbo-loading surplus as it will in a deficit, as your article references. Good article, btw.

Definitely agree. Keto is not a healthy way to fuel any kind of serious exercising, carbs are the best fuel.

Well yeah, any surplus, especially a keto surplus since fat so easily turns to body fat. People like to hate on sugar but fat is worse.

Agreed.. Yea, the body won't burn fat until it's finished burning that glycogen from your carbs.. I corrected those words, it was poorly worded. "won't burn fat," was the first post, poorly worded. That was where the confusion came in. The article doesn't back up those words, agreed. I was really wanting to speak to what the article does say .. (There are exceptions when this occurs. One is with massive chronic overfeeding of carbs.)

Agreed again, my carbs are 50% of 3,000 cals, and working to lower fats to < 20% this month.

Good discussion. I need to modify my understanding of the over-carbo-loading theory contributing to increased bodyfat%. Chris' bodyfat% may have way more to do with Oct fats at 25%, which is what the original post said..
