chrisw77's Journal, 05 Nov 19

Time to get rid of some fat this week - starting with dialing it back from my diet. Dropping the calories by 500 a day in an effort to lose a pound this week; if only someone would remind me...

Also, kicking the intensity up at the gym to avoid needing breast reduction surgery in January.

It's all fun and games until my wife's comments border sexual harassment/cat-calling. I feel violated.

Duh. Wars again.

Guess I'll have to go back to spamming some metabolic ward studies. The war has been over for a while. Science killed it.

Lots of insecurity going on here, I wonder if anyone can work out the reason for the war! LOL the green man .

@Diablo: yet so interesting how most of the population nowadays steer away from even vegetable carbs out of fear of weight gain. I guess like all things in nature, balance is where it's at 😊

Who’s insecure and who is the green man? I❤️ all carbs! I do try to eat them early though. 😜

@sbflow, in the 80s fat was the devil, now it's sugar. All the while, Mr. Calorie surplus is laughing in the background. 😋

I must be old and past it can't understand what all these omogee?(spelling) mean. What ever happened good old fashion English?

D while I agree with quite a bit with your propaganda (read philosophy), I experimented a lot with my body in the past years. My best definition results were with protein +++, fat ++ and carbs +. Sorry, amma bitch.

No worries, your anecdote means nothing to me when metabolic ward studies prove that when calories and protein are constant, fat loss is the same whether the rest of your calories come from carbs or fat. Besides, think of Asian countries and even Italians with their high carb diets. From breads to rice. They are the thinnest countries cause they avoid....a calorie surplus.

And these studies take people in all ranges from young and athletic to obese and insulin resistant. It matters not.

You found that keto helps you control calories enough to maintain weight without counting calories. Great for you but it hardly debunks studies that have no room for error.

Lol I want to say, this does not apply to the US, Yadayadaya. Asian genes are different, it’s proved. Italian people cook real food, too. Might be calories. Or aliens. Whatever, hey, that works too. Just figure out what really works for you. Of course, if you eat carbs plus fat over your “base”, you’ll get fat for real. I am just stating, I’ve been lifting, I tried a lot of methods. I’ve been studying nutrition too. Everything on the Internet plus Stanford courses. And you know what, fuck it, I am not fat, I just watch my definition results over time while déprimeront. And low carb and high protein, this is what works best on my little person. Peace.

I literally hate that French corrector 😝

yeah let's just say I've never seen anything advising that different genes make macros work differently in our bodies but you can believe that I guess. 👍🏼

Also fat isn't something we want to avoid with no fat on our bodies we perish, now imagine telling someone that real food is worse than the kids cereal at keeping us from dying.

Fat macros vs skinny macros? Yalla!

I have a question since you're trying to learn more do you know what metabolic Ward studies are?
05 Nov 19 by member: -Diablo
I'm not reading the war / shots/ bombs in comments. I didn't mean to start a war. I'm just sharing from someone who's been around the diet world since I had that first oreo slapped out of my pudgy little 8 year old hand... there's been a LOT of different things we were told.

When I was doing 'low cal / low fat' in the 90's, I was addicted to rice crackers as my snack. Another 'reference' said that they would convert to sugar & thereby fat.

I'm not trying to argue with metabolic wards or anything.. I was just mentioning it as a passing thought on why some people like me ask what seems to be 'smart ass'questions when I'm really asking for information. That's why Chris & I have a safe word.
