Is it possible to gain muscle quickly when working with one rep max or close? I’m researching how fast the gain can be but not finding much.

I power walked through stores off and on for 3 hours yesterday. Normally that would make my legs ache but not today so far. Lifting my max weights should’ve left me wanting to do nothing but lay down with hurting but not so much. I’ve been playing with heavier weights for awhile off and on. My arms just seem bigger today too. All odd lol.

Of course it could be the medicine making me hold water and perhaps I’m holding that water in my arms and legs so they look and feel better. Or it could be my imagination.

Sounds like you are going back through time and in your youth again. Just be careful with it! It sucks to get injured after all the good gains! Your youthful energy has returned. My did too. I can run on the treadmill non stop. Of course, I stop but, for some odd reason, I am not depleted the next day anymore! even after running 5 miles so keep up the good work girl and know that, the power is yours!

I’m wondering if it’s partly the new meds and partly the high kcal diet I’ve had lately. Not to mention I’m on a new see med that actually allows me to sleep pretty well. Probably a combination of everything. I’ll be careful thanks! Glad you too feel good the next day!

No, 5+ is much better. 1-3 would be good for strength gains if you were competing in powerlifting but it also increases injury risk.
