OK I admit I am such a cliche! I am resolving to losing weight in 2014 starting today. I had VERY GOOD results losing weight using fatsecret a number of years ago and attempted again earlier this year but failed miserably. Since then I have had surgery in June 2012 to resolve a blocked common bile duct (gall bladder stone removal..which I have to say was the most pain I have felt ever in my life!) and more recently ended up having my gall bladder removed in November 2012 (should have had it removed sooner but I procrastinated). I have not watched my diet since then even with the instructions from the MD to follow a low fat diet (due to the surgery) and have not had any adverse effects (digestive issues) except I have gained weight (I guess you could call that a very very bad effect!). I must have been having gall bladder attacks for a number of years but have been thinking it was acid reflux because I have not had ANY symptoms even with my bad eating choices over the holidays like I have had in the past. So, starting today I have started to log my food intake.

I am slightly proud of myself because I told my husband earlier this morning that I would start logging my food intake tomorrow but I decided to start a day earlier as I have to work tomorrow and I wanted to get a head start on planning my meals. I have logged my breakfast and dinner meals already this morning, but I am stuck on what to have for lunch. We have a memorial mass to attend for my mother in law later this morning and I am unsure if my in-laws will want to do lunch afterward.I am little scared on making a poor choice for lunch but feel that if that does occur that I can pick something that is good for me.

In the past I have noted (or should I say fellow fatsecret members have noted) that I was eating more sugar/carbs and not enough protein. By cutting down on carbs/sugar I noticed a BIG change in my headache frequency. In fact this past summer I can count on one hand how many headaches I had and that includes even migraines which I have suffered from for years. This was a big break through for me. I have also noted more headaches this holiday season which I know is due to my poor choices and I am finally going to make a change after being away from fatseret for waaaayyyyy too long.
