Happy 'Senior Spotlight' Saturday my friends!

Now HOLD ON 🖐...even you younger whippersnappers can learn a few things from this post! This exercise program could work well for someone recovering from an injury or illness, or for someone who's newer to the exercise experience. It's good to start slow & easy and work up to more reps, resistance or weights. Rome wasn't built in a day...and neither are our muscles!!💪💪

After reading the comments from my post yesterday, I am feeling more reassured about my maintenance 'dietary' program and more determined about my 'exercise' program! To be honest, I wouldn't mind losing a few more pounds...but my primary focus is muscle tone, strength, endurance and flexibility at this juncture of my life.

I hope this post helps to give someone the added boost of incentive to get up, get moving, and get stronger! Wishing everyone a sensational, successful Saturday!

💙💪💙

Crystal, have you actually tried this program yet? Is this your current routine? Do you have before/after pics to show us your progress using it? The personal details are good to include with a promoted workout in order to lend credibility.

Thanks so much for sharing this post. Crystaljo I was laughing to myself about the exercise where they had one side of there leg up and was holding it with there hand I would fall over for sure. But I bet moopie could do that exercise very well.

Yes!! Thank you for sharing. We should all be doing resistance training three times a week. Especially us older ones:)

@JB...no, I have not personally tried it. I did a search and this was among the things that came up regarding sarcopenia (my personal concern at this time). I don't endorse it or recommend it...just offer it as helpful info on the subject.😊

@buenitabishop...you're so funny!! It's true our Moopie could probably do it just FINE!! (I think those are just generic icons to stand for endurance, balance & flexibility...they aren't actually recommended in the exercises)...thank goodness😆

@Funshine...We're all at different fitness levels, with different abilities...this is just 1 option for folks to consider. I did recently purchase some resistance bands, and look forward to giving this program a try💪👟

I have really fallen down on the job on strength training. Winning the battle in the kitchen, getting aerobic exercise, but really need to work on the muscles. Thanks for the nudge, CrystalJo 😊

Sarcopenia should be everyone’s concern crystal. The 1st couple years is ok. But after a few years of losing muscle mass. People will start to get unhealthy, develop joint pain, becoming metabolically unhealthy which leads to plenty of diseases. Resistance training brings back your muscles, makes you feel young and strong again

Yes this is a great reminder. I try to do some but I should do better with the resistance training.

Thank you superman6283! At first I thought resistance training and weight training were two entirely different things...it appears they both fall under the 'strength training' umbrella☂️ There's truly so much to learn about wellness, nutrition and fitness🤯

You Too @Shrewdness🤗💙🙏

@liv001...the hardest thing for me is taking 'baby steps' instead of pushing myself too hard, too quick right into an autoimmune flare🔥. But I am determined to keep trying and not sink into the couch cushions again!!🛋

You are wise to know that. I think gyms make their money having people with super good intentions sign up for long contracts and then never come back. The best exercise is the one we actually will do. that being said ... all kinds of good research suggest resistance training is great for those of us who are mature.

Almost missed this post. My feed has never worked right. Does anyone know a trick to fix it? FS doesn't respond. Thanks
