Shrewdness's Journal, 02 Jun 22

My feet didn’t look that bad after pouring super hot water on them.😁
My legs I can feel they were burnt a little still, but also are fine and happy.
I was going to start a few new habits on the 1st, but that was a fail!😞
I formed the habit of not telling anyone about my new habits until I succeed, now I fail without anybody even knowing.😆
We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit. I feel I’ll never get there.😔
Have a Tremendous Thursday!!🌺☀️
All dreams are within reach. All you have to do is keep moving towards them.👍

I like the idea of not telling people your new habits until succeeding. Glad you are feeling better.

I’m doing a new thing myself. I’ll let you know in a month. And no, not a diet thing.

When I mentor people one of the first things I tell them is to NOT discuss their weight loss intentions with casual friends, co-workers or anyone who has tried to sabotage you in the past. Then, when your weight loss becomes significantly noticeable to others just reply that you are just trying to eat a little healthier and that a great byproduct of that goal is that you are losing a few pounds. I urge people to never use the word diet.

People actually get tired of hearing obese people talk about losing weight and their latest diet, especially if it is a repeat active cycle.

Repeatative cycle. Darn auto correct.

Glad your burns are not severe Shrewd. Hope you're having a great Thursday.

I agree with Kenna. When I first started working out I used to share my workout experience with coworkers. One-day a coworker told me to " get over myself" she said no one was really interested in how many squats I did or how much weight I lifted. I was really hurt because I was proud of myself for making a positive change. In hind sight, she was probably right...

man, diana, that's pretty harsh of her. I'd toss that right back in her face with respect to her kids/pets/hobbies/etc. but i tend to be direct. why you're probably a better person than I am.

!! Diana, I think most of us do probably get a bit bored hearing about coworker or friends' workout details, seeing too many pet or family pics or stuff like that, but it is hurtful to actually tell someone to get over themselves and stop sharing those details. In the offices I worked in, people who would get most annoyed or upset about coworkers sharing things like excitement about their upcoming wedding (totally acceptable in my book), race times or other good news were usually pretty unhappy and felt it was showing them up in some way. I honestly don't care about people's times or weight lifted in sports I don't play, but I also don't care enough to tell them not to share it.

Yeah, she was pretty harsh and my feelings were pretty hurt but then I decided that maybe I was over sharing so I stopped and only shared when someone made a comment on my weigh loss. 💜💜

she was probably jealous, too. you look fantastic.

I agree Kat that's harsh. I'm not sure what I would've said back. I tend to be surprised when people are rude & if my feelings are hurt I don't think on my feet fast enough. It probably shows on my face though, sadly. Diana, you do look great & she was probably jealous for sure! DJ I think you're right. I also think that I've entertained people I'm bored by for way too long just to not be impolite. The older I get the less I do that, tho. something about life's too short! lol Kenna I think you're right, too. I'm pretty private & don't share a lot. Except here! 😆 Yes I think its probably best to not overshare. I don't tell anyone about my weight loss till they comment now, too. Shrewd lol as usual on your posts!! I thought you really did get burned for a minute! 🤣 I'll have to share the burn I got while kayaking! it's better now but wow, I need to be more careful!

One thing you need to think about when you are sharing— if this is your FIRST diet rodeo people will generally be kind and helpful and supportive with plenty of “atta boys”, be kind to yourself type statements, etc. but if they hear the song and dance the first of every month for extended (think years) periods of time— do you really blame them for losing interest?

Fritzy, when ever I tell my plans they seem to always fall through, better to just do it.🙃🌼

Katsolo, I will follow suit and try a new thing as well.😊👍🌺
