Debbie Cousins's Journal, 29 Aug 23

Went hog wild and pig crazy today. Knew it was going to be a bad day by 5am. I ended up having three mediocre muffins, 3 servings of peanut butter pretzels, a serving of Fritos Honey BBQ Twists, a piece of a KitKat bar, a couple Danish Butter Cookies - about 3,000 calories in all. I was SO tempted to just NOT record what I ate, but I’ve done it every day since 6/23/22, and I dare not break the habit! Don’t know what got into me. I didn’t even eat ALL of what I wanted. This is the way I use to would eat every single day. Maybe it’s that I know I’m approaching the 190’s again, and that I’ll HAVE TO straighten up very soon. I can NOT go back there, because right on it’s tail of the 200’s! Ok, going to go back to bed now. I’ve done all the damage I can do for one day. Hopefully, tomorrow will be a better day - it almost HAS to be!

I have a day like that every now and then too. Just leave it in the rear view mirror and carry on. You'll be fine!!!

Hey there. Hope you don’t mind but I took the liberty of scrolling back through your posts since earlier in the year because I wanted to check something. Looks like you’ve lost about 20 pounds since February. In the same time I’ve lost maybe six. You were walking a lot before your surgery and also making sensible choices and trade-offs along the way to stay within your calorie budget. All of that resulted in 70+ pounds gone in just over a year! I know you have been dealing with some stressful issues in addition to your recovery but I hope you can take a moment to look at the situation and regain some control. I wouldn’t be able to resist all those crunchy sweet and savory snacks, either. Hoping that tomorrow is a better day!

Such supportive and understanding comments! Thank you all! I’m seriously considering dumping the rest of the peanut butter pretzels in the garbage container and pouring grease over them so I can’t dig them back out. I’m a little better able to control the Danish Butter Cookies and the Kit Kat bars. Stressful day yesterday! Our microwave DIED, the plumbing backed up and flooded the basement, and the new dishwasher doesn’t DRY the dishes as it’s supposed to. (We got the DW right before my surgery, but my husband has been doing all the dishes in it and then just drying them after. I just started using it. We got the service plan. No reason I should have to dry the dishes by hand!) Life! Did all my PT exercises TWICE yesterday. Might only do them once on Tuesdays and Thursdays when I have my appointments because she works me so much harder, with resistance. Still walking 3 miles. Did almost half of it without the walker yesterday. Getting my form back a little better. Ok. On to first half mile!
