Walked 6 miles yesterday, got in almost 23 grams of Fiber, kept calories under 1,800. (Didn’t drink ANY water and drank close to a dozen cans of Diet Coke.)

I started piano lessons yesterday!!! I’ve been researching it for about a week, and have been watching a lot of instructional videos. I’ve already almost mastered Silent Night. I’ve taught my 7-year-old grandson what I’ve learned so far, and he can now play the melody after spending about a half hour with him!

I’ll tell y’all more about this in future emails.

The piano playing sounds fun. You must have some hidden talent in this. I think you are awesome anyway. I'm a retired nurse and am very worried about this soda addiction. You are close to are are at the amount of diet coke daily that is considered dangerous. Read up on it. You don't have to drink water. Decaffeinated tea or herbal teas are great. Weaning yourself off of this should be doable. Please Debbie, tackle this problem or walking 6 miles a day and getting in plenty of fiber won't really matter. Please, you are important to all of us here.

Thank you, Morticia. The sudden increase in soda consumption is because, instead of getting 10-11 hours of sleep a night, as I have been doing for a couple of years, I’ve only been getting 3-6 hours for the past week or two. I’m so excited about the piano program that I’ve been unable to sleep. Thankfully, I am still doing the walking, but I’ve got about 8 extra awake hours in my day now, and I’m using the caffeine to get me through. Been an adjustment to try to incorporate piano study and practicing time into my day. I know I need to quit Diet Coke altogether, but the addiction is very strong. “Moderation” doesn’t come easily to me. Thanks for sharing your concern.
