Happy New Week, Best Buddies:

I like to count my number of workouts within a calendar month and this month I hit 20 visits to Orange Theory Fitness!

That is pretty darn good for my old tired 60 year old body - especially considering the trainers all are like 25 years old (excerpt for one woman who is a 42 year old professional bodybuilder) and the average age of the clients is about 35 years old!

I am not he oldest person there by any stretch, but there aren't a ton of the over 60 crowd at this place. It is HIIT and challenges me daily!

Of course, I LOVE it! Now, if I can just keep the carbs down and the fat up...maybe the %@%@%@$@% Idiot Box will move!

My trainer is an old-timer (54) but has spent a lifetime of doing everything right. My gym has all ages because it's nested in a medical community, which attracts doctors, nurses, and lab techs. I would let go of the age thing, because it's really about the diet, exercise, and substance (alcohol, drugs, and even legal prescriptions) lifestyles that mess with a person's health. And you're doing great!

You rock, HCB! I like keeping track of my workouts, too. I write them on my calendar, and my fitness tracker also keeps track and e-mails me summaries. We old-timers are super-cool; I met a woman new to Zumba yesterday who is approaching her 80th birthday. She danced next to me, and did very well. After class, she was just glowing; I'm sure I'll be seeing her there again.

@CrabbyCat! So true, I was the only woman in class using 25lbs dumbbells for shoulder presses this morning - the youngin's were in 12 and 15 pounders! LOL
