Dropped 8 lbs. post surgery. Not the way I wanted to lose it, but nevertheless. Walked 5 miles yesterday and had to take a 3 hr nap with muscle relaxers to calm my back down. 3.5 miles today and it feels pretty good. Looking forward to physical therapy when the surgeon clears me to do so. Hope everyone is enjoying the warmer weather in the northeast U.S.

Been home since Saturday, March 13th. Doing what dr. allows in terms of exercise every day. Starting to finally feel good with no pain at incision site today. The medications force me to nap at weird times, and I hate the way opiates make my head feel, but I know they are necessary for now. My post op visit is tomorrow and I’m hoping he will let me begin more aggressive therapy. Otherwise, I’m doing well.

Day 46 - 55 minutes/16 miles/128 watts/76 rpms
I thought I posted this yesterday, but it obviously didn't take. My youngest turned 20 on the 8th, and iHop was her restaurant of choice.
My streak is over today as I go under the knife at 9:30 this morning. Thanks for following my progress as I attempted to lose weight. I consider it a success as I dropped 10 lbs and 1 waist size since January 20th. 46 days in a row is the new benchmark to chase for when I'm feeling better. Hopefully rehab won't take too long and I can get back on the golf course sooner rather than later. If I'm able, I'll post something after surgery tomorrow. Be well.
