Struggling big time today. I’m in about week 5 of changing how, what, when I eat. Working really well was sticking to calorie count and not eating before lunch. Thursday super tiring day with work that just kept going Friday. Thursday morning I started eating at 5am and felt out of control ever since. Just ate a toasted sambo as afternoon tea. Had stopped that. It’s not what I ate - it’s the uncontrollable desire to go back to the familiar. I would happily eat and eat and eat - until I stop then not so happy. I’m guessing it’s hormones and probably that this happens after a month or so - every time I try to change this. So much of what we do is about getting motivated - the staying determined and persistent is much more difficult.

Today i had to be up at 5 and into traffic for early meetings. Before I even left the house I gave myself unauthorized permission to eat anything I wanted for…. For how long? That is a great question! Perhaps just for the day.

I commented on someone else’s post that secret eating when alone is a trap. Today I’m tired, overworked and alone. Took a different course to normal - lovely lunch of egg, salmon, pesto tom, cucumber - no tv. Then walk outside.

Really starting to reduce portions now. Happy to watch hubby eat potatoes and me eat broc with steak.
