Arrived at the gym 10 minutes early so hit up the leg press as well as the fly/deltoid machine. Learned tai chi in class and it’s another one that makes me feel like an uncoordinated idiot so yeah that’s not for me either lol. After class (bike and tai chi) I hit the weight machines again. Curls, extensions, hip add/abd and chest press.. needed another leg and the leg extension and curl machines were full. Guess what picked again? Yep the leg press. Man next to me gave me this look like ‘okay little lady, put in on 50 and give me 2 then go to the girly machines’. Not mean but the look totally suggested I shouldn’t be on the machine. 110 8 reps, still watching, 140 10 reps, still watching but had stopped working out... 165, 8 reps.. got off the machine, smiled and made a comment about getting the kids and walked off. Waited until I was at the nursery to gasp for breath haha. No breaks between and I can already feel it my my thighs. That’s the last time I decide to show an older gentleman that I’m not a weak little girl like his look suggested lol. Thank goodness it was time to get the kids! I’d have been hurting then if I’d have had to do another set around 190 that time lol.

Lol yeah but I have a feeling I’m gonna regret it 😢. 4 hours later and I’m already sore lol. Normally I’m not even slightly sore until 10+ hours later or really sore until the next day about 20-24 hours later. It’s gonna be a long soak in the bathtub kind of night I think 🤔. I bet the next time the gentleman sees a woman head to those machines he won’t give her one of those looks lol. If he’s there next week I think I’ll pick a machine away from him. Unless I really REALLY want a workout!

So funny. I admire Tai Chi, but feel like an idiot when I try. Bit like meditation to me. Try occasionally, but easily forget about it wirhin days. Good job with those presses. You should sync up with that guy again 😛

My mind does NOT shut off. So not only am I all wobbly but I’m also unable to ‘relax and clear your mind’. Ya know, I really should ask that guy when he comes in and if he would like to be my workout partner. I’d get irritated but I’d do twice as much on my workouts just to prove to him that I could! Same reason I want to go with hubby. He’s competitive lol. He would be saying ‘oh yes dear, that’s a lot for a woman’ so then I’d have to double the weight and ask if that was ‘a lot’ for a woman. My oldest is competitive but not in a good way. Distracting, bratty and hates when I do more than her... which is often now as I go 2-3 days a week and she goes once a month lol. I get the sullen attitude for a week if I out lift her by 5# :/.

There’s a young man about 16-18 that comes in often. He’s more about show than working out and he brings another guy and a girl. One day I hope to get strong enough to outlift him ;). There is a very fit woman and I hope I’m never near her! I’ve never seen a woman lift like this lady!! Maybe I’ll be like her in 3-5 years but there’s no way I’ll get there any time soon!

lol, sounds like what I would do!! I hate when a man thinks women can't lift!!

Women can lift alright, at the ymca there's some bulls doing some serious bench and dead lifts etc. hahaha
