To snack or not to snack, that is the question. I have the calories in my weekly budget as I saved yesterday and I did extra stuff today to make sure I burned a lot of calories. Just don’t know if I should use 100-200 if the 1000 now or save for the weekend.

I find it works better for me to think of it like money. I made/burned this amount and that’s all I can spend/eat. Being in maintenance I CAN use them all OR I can have a savings account (maybe a loss).

How does everyone decide what they should do if they still have calories to eat? I’ve got the munchies and the tummy is starting to growl a bit but I’m not ‘hungry’. Water wasn’t satisfying and neither is a diet cherry limeades. Perhaps I should wait an hour and just have my last ounce of almonds or a 90-100 calorie treat. Or reach a chapter, go to bed early and think of the 1000 caloriesnive saved in the last two days lol.

Your welcome 😁. I’ve never attempted to diet from thanksgiving to New Years other than smaller portions than last year, skipping dessert or replacing desert with half a plate of turkey and sides. Replacing made me gain one year but I did end up eating like 2 full plates worth. I’ve started making 1-2 turkey dinners at home for just us around that time. Then I can have turkey many times in smaller portions. They don’t carry turkeys in the stores here most of the time :/.

I would like to carry my pencil and notebook, food scale and my phone while I eat out, but people are going to think I am crazy, so right now I am working on mindful eating.

Lol I type it in my note app and take a picture. If I’m eating with family in their home I bring my scale. Some look at me odd, some tease me and others have more negative things to say. Depending on the person and their personality I can put them in their place with a comment such as ‘it works for me and I’m happy to help anyone wanting to lose weight or be more mindful of their portion sizes’. One great aunt supports me to the point of letting me know a few days ahead of time what the menu is and this spring actually sent me the exact information with pictures of the packaging and nutrition label! She’s overweight and has no plans to change so this was a pleasant surprise! One dinner I knew I’d be harassed so I ate a small meal ahead of time and had a roll and meat at the meal. I could guess meat fairly well and knew where they bought the rolls so could look it up. When asked why I wasn’t eating much I just said we had a big lunch. I didn’t but I’d made a big lunch for the kids 😁.

Wow, congratulations, I will have to do that. I am doing what makes me happy, if they don't care about calories is their problem 🙃
