** MAYBE YOU CAN RELATE? **

I went years (as most do) having a gym membership and never using it; essential spending about $180/workout ($180 and only going twice per year) lol.

A couple years ago, I started going more, but didn't know what I was doing and just jumping on all the machines with no program or progress tracking. It wasn't until this year that I went hardcore.

I get WAY more than my money's worth now! I didn't love exercise until now - it was just something I did, but nothing worked because I thought just being in a gym meant I'd gain muscle or lose fat... It wasn't until now that I actually LOVE it and look forward to the next session!

Once you get to the point where you see results AND are doing exercises you enjoy, it's wonderful and not a chore!

That's the problem trying to convince others to join you or getting them to see how fun it can be. Just like I didn't see the joy folks got from it, they can't either... it's totally a personal epiphany that needs to occur within.

Yes, times 100! Especially once you know about nutrition and know results are guaranteed. It becomes addictive.

I get the whole "how much do you pay for your gym membership.... that's a joke" comment all the time. Normally from someone with a pack of cigarettes in their pocket mind you. F45 seems expensive at $60 a week but the way I justify to myself is this. I go 6 times a week (could go more if I wanted) and each one is basically a PT session as it's all laid out and it forces me to do exercises I wouldn't normally do. where can you get a 45 min PT session for $10? it's actually great value for money and like you pointed out the more you go the better value it is

zap is $15 a week, and GoodLife is $20 so I'm out a good let's round it out to $100 a week... still cheaper then a tobacco addiction and a hell of a lot healthier

I'm very curious to see your results on a bulk doing that routine, Keith. I'm not sold on cardio lifting being very good for adding mass but you may make me a believer if you gain muscular size doing it. Not trying to be a debbie downer, just giving my honest opinion. I didn't look into it previously, I just watched a video on youtube after your post here.

Nah I 100% agree with you F45 will strip muscle. I weight train in combination with it in the afternoons for size. I want ya crazy cut abs though and that's where I'm going to get em. Also my general fitness has sky rocketed, it's cardio at the end of the day like you said. I burn on average 550-600 Cal's in a 45 min workout

no doubt my bulk will be slower then others but I am fairly confident I will not put on hardly any fat in the process. again time will tell. the process is fascinating, what I expect to happen might not actually happen. I think I will have to bump up my cals considerably yet but I will give it a month to see. at 2800 Cal's a day I'm basically only 100 above maintenance

#chris I was looking at Crossfit but opted for F45. they are quite similar but F45 was a better fit for me, location played a big factor. I want to do a Crossfit games vs F45 playoffs event as I know enough people to make it happen at a local level.

Good to hear you're supplementing with some weight training. Still curious on your progress vs. Chris now, haha. Friendly competition. :P

Chris, I think somatotypes are a good way to classify body types without offending people and that is about it. Keith is a good example, he resembled an endo and now an ecto. I at a point was much closer to an endo than a meso. Same goes for my workout buddy, he was 280 pounds and now he is the white version of me, lol.

I generally weight train in the 4-6 rep range these days. With absolute failure at 6. If I could push a 7th I go heavier. Do 1 group a day weather it be back or shoulders etc etc Yeah friendly competition is great for motivation 👍

That will do it and seems like it would be a great compliment to the high rep range F45 workouts.

You're just saying that so we let our guard down so you can pass us up. Nice try big guy!

Your kidding yourself if you think you wouldn't go toe to toe with anything I'm doing I reckon.

Yes! I can relate. A Gym membership (My LA Fitness is $32 a month) is very economical if you go at least 3 times a week.

My story is a little different because I've gone to the gym for years and here's the good news, I still love it!!!! I always set goals for myself and usually have a workout partner. The only negative is "some people" can get obsessed and spend 3 or more hours at the gym and when "they" go on vacation join a local gym because they didn't want to lose any progress LOL P.S. I'm better now :)

Isn’t that the truth. It’s hard to get people to understand why I swim two hours every morning. It is so addicting and brings me unbelievable joy as that wonderful water envelopes me and my brain just zones out and becomes quiet.

I totally get it, it's strange how spending a tonne of energy then having a breakfast gives me more energy.

@chrisw77 - I am going on vacation this weekend. I plan to be in the Hotel Gym on Saturday morning :)

"Nah I 100% agree with you F45 will strip muscle."-KGC Hmmm, now I know why he wants me to do something similar. He wants me to lose my muscle. :(
