I've got my numbers dialed-in again. I now know that 500 calories in surplus or deficit will swing me almost exactly 1 lb in either direction again.

for me, that is too much carbs. I try to keep my carbs below 5 percent and I don't count calories. when you drop the carbs then your body regulates your hunger properly . only lean people can eat that many carbs without putting on weight or slowing down their metabolism up. So far I'm down 71 pounds with another 10 to go. low to no carbs until I can see abs

Yes same here, keep carbs way down, fats up and proteins moderate unless you are lifting weights and are trying to get bigger. Speaking of carbs, tis the season for Ghiradelli peppermint bark. Just stocked up. Still have Halloween candy (mounds bars) to work through, so between that and the peppermint bark, I should be set until Easter (Cadbury cream eggs!) and Valentine's day (chocolate covered caramels!). I love holidays. LOL

Don't forget about de novo lipogenesis! Excess carbs and eating in a surplus can increase this...

The demonizing of carbs continues. Focusing in their number instead of on total calories. It's physics people, carbs do not create extra energy from thin air.
