Visually, it's nothing special. Just an ice cream sammy, some cottage cheese (yes, with pepper), and casserole... Ground beef, chopped onion, radiatore pasta, a jar of pasta sauce, and a block of Velveeta. Quick and easy and SO dang good!

Why does the cottage cheese look like it has some strawberry in it? How is the pepper in there? :P

I've never tried it but I wouldn't think it necessary with the raspberry preserves. Good idea on adding that. I may have to start getting cottage cheese to have an excuse to use my preserves.

I didn't realize people didn't like cottage cheese. lol I love it but only the large curd kind. Also good with salted tomatoes. They sweet salty acidity works with the cottage cheese. My mom likes that combo too.

My mom loved apple butter and cottage cheese. I just can't get past the texture....nor taste. Give me ricotta instead and I'm happy.

I'm concerned with the cottage cheese not looking white and hoping its just my computer. i would have estimated a lot more calories for that- especially with a block of velveeta.

Sassy, same here😋 well, sea salt and pepper. It’s life😊 never really liked it with fruit. That’s my hubbys thing, pineapples and cottage cheese.

Oh- I didn't see the first comments. Well- I was proud of you for trying the pepper but that was before I realized you mixed in strawberry preserves. WTH is wrong with you? It's one or the other. No wonder you don't like it. It would have been awesome with the pasta, too- MINUS the strawberry of course. Then it would have been kinda lasagna-ish... think ricotta. OK- I need to accomplish more than FS critiques today.

Chris- I love cottage cheese and have learned how to incorporate it in my diet in many ways. Many more ways than in a bowl mixed with strawberry preserves and cereal. Puree it and add as as component to guac. Or puree it and add other cheeses to make an awesome mac and cheese. Like DP suggested think about puree it add some spices on a baked pasta, ziti, or stuffed shell Italian dish instead of ricotta. Puree it, add some spices and stuff in a chicken breast like a cordon bleu. Or make a smoothie with fresh strawberries, cottage cheese and some other stuff. Your WOE are both inspiring and interesting...I like cottage cheese some mornings spread on toast, with a slice of tomatoe and lots of pepper! i also like it with fresh strawberries or blueberries. Never would think to mix in cereal or a preserve. Great job on your journry to health!

I never thought of preserves in cottage cheese either but it makes sense as we serve cheese with fruit.
