Sitting here thinking... dangerous I know!

CICO doesn’t really fit me. I’m totally in the CICO field BUT it describes every decent diet plan. Eat less than you burn. Simple right? Limit carbs. Limit fat like I *try* to do. Eat at a calorie deficit.

I swore I’d NEVER be a IIFYM person. Too much work. Well guess what. Seems that’s right where I am. I track calories and protein. Carbs are always over 100 and I do my best to keep fat under 50g but fail most days. Calories and protein is where it’s at for me lost days.

Perhaps we should start calling CICO calorie counting instead. If you track macros then you are IIFYM rather than CICO. Maybe then CICO wouldn’t get such a bad rap. Because, again, all decent diets are CICO based. All just depends on what we limit 😉.

Just my random tipsy thoughts for the night!

(Anyone who is wondering, if still love to hit a ho, but I’m calmer thanks to Mr. Bud and I’m not gonna make a habit out of it. Had the calories and needed the calm)

Labels aren't important. :) Call it what you will. What I call skipping breakfast others call intermittent fasting. No biggie. I was on the flexible diet plan way before I knew it was called that. I just ate what I wanted. Now I'm more IIFYM because I actually try to keep protein and fiber at a certain level, though I completely ignore fat and carbs as macros. They mean nothing to me. I guess - the long way round - labels are unimportant other than making google searches easier.

Agree with LZenn, you don’t have to be a purist. If you get to a caloric deficit by counting calories generally, restricting a certain macro, or some other mechanism, it’s whatever works for you.

I also try to limit fats lately, I don't worry about carbs they take care of themselves because I eat so much of them, but I do focus on protein since it doesn't taste good so I need to go out of my way to get it in. And yes, all diets follow CICO, even the bad ones lol.

I am focused on my proteins too. I wonder why proteins are not as delicious as Carbs. 🤔

Yes, fat and carbs are interchangeable. Their percentages don't matter as much as protein. I only go lower fat since usually when I have high fat and carb snacks, they are harder to limit. Cutting sucks, I want to go back to maintenance, lol!

Peeper what's all the drinking about? Lol. Do you always partake? I'm impressed. Once I drink, I'm good for about 6 months. I know you're a teeny but younger but how can you recover so quickly and jump in again? Not looking for pointers. Just curious. 😉

LZ we probably have a similar diet. Flexible dieting describes me too. I’m a rigid person mostly so it’s nice to let loose on things like diet and not feel so rigid. Working on it in other areas ;). I like labels as it helps me understand things and is easier to say ‘IIFYM’ rather than ‘I am a flexible dieter who counts calories and watches to keep protein high’. 😉 For some reason labels help me know my place in the scheme of things?

@me myself and I, I’m so not a purist in anything I do lol. I couldn’t focus my mind long enough I think lol. @princess emotions! They get the better of me. My family drinks for every emotion. I drink when upset or want to relax. Basically a ho rubbed on hubby, I was drunk (everyone was except the sober ho) and we were at an after wedding party so didn’t feel that I could do much about said ho. Hubby ignored my trying to say anything as he was the life of the party. Enter emotions that stuck around for 2 days. Still here a bit today in that I’d smack a ho if I saw her lol. Really didn’t want to ruin the party because some good friends were hosting. Come to find out the female host friend realized what was up and was keeping an eye out too. Said yes the ho would’ve taken hubby in a heartbeat IF so many weren’t around and if he would’ve said yes but she didn’t use words just touch. Again, stupid ho lol. Guess I’m a bit territorial! That’s the short version of a 6 hour long party lol. And no I don’t drink often. Usually 3-4 times a year. Drunk bad twice in my life. Drunk moderately maybe once a year. I’m 38 so bet I’m not younger and probably a couple years older than you. I’ll be 39 in Dec (and I’m not teeny hehe but I am short!)

As to recovery, I have no clue. Usually just a headache for two days. Just have my usual allergy headache and no hangover. Perhaps because I woke up for 2 hours from 4-6 and had water? Didn’t eat until lunch at McDonald’s and just the burger. Had 4 last night to gain courage to bear my heart to the hubby (boob comments to ho and I’m a breast cancer survivor so those really hurt). Otherwise I’d not have had them. The ones in the fridge we bought months ago and have been having 1-2 occasionally and now they are almost gone. I need to find something else to channel the emotions but food makes me fat, smoking more is even more unhealthy and I can’t just leave the kids at all hours to head to the gym. I can do some stuff at home. That’s why I’m thinking a punching bag or dummy would be great. (Ps I’ve never been in a physical fight in my life, something I’m proud of given my emotions and temper, but this weekend gladly would’ve been my first lol)

Protein NOT tasty? Hmmm. I love meat but do get tired of it. Nothing better than a well cooked burger, steak or chop! Well snickers and other candy bars but nothing mealwise to me. Perhaps you all should look into getting a steer butchered. Much better quality of meat than what’s at the store. If they are fed grain or corn at the end anyway. Grass fed can be tough and flavorless in an older steer.
