My calories are super high today. Big award for a family member. I had two choices at dinner so I chose the one I could log easiest. Then dessert. Sweet sweet dessert. I get this dessert once every 1-2 years so I ate it and logged the best I could. Been ‘backed up’ so thanks to my lactose intolerance I choose to eat some ice cream 😉.

I get home and have some wild emotions running around between an omission by the hubby and then seeing someone I truly admire leaving even if only for awhile (I hope). I logged a snickers and shake. Probably won’t have the shake as it would upset the tummy more. As of now I decided I don’t need the snickers so unlogged it.

I could use this as an excuse to eat more. Will I? Nope. Because I’ve learned better. It’ll just add another pound and won’t resolve my emotions. If it would gain me 1# of muscle only I’d gladly eat whatever I needed to for that but not just because I want to eat. Don’t fall into the cycle of emotional eating. Find the willpower to say ‘no, not this time’ and eventually you’ll make the better choice every time.

I don’t feel the least bit guilty for my splurges today as the rewards were worth it. Is the emotional eating worth it to you? I bet not. Is having a treat that’ll help you worth it? I bet it is some times. Is having that once a year dessert with family worth it? I bet it is just for the sake of that memory. And in my defense, as if I needed one lol, I shared it with 3 kids. The pie not the ice cream. I still have half the ice cream left. Once unlogged it won’t be so bad. 🤷‍♀️ worth it to me either way.

You’ll get there! You can do this! Be mindful and conscious of all your food choices while not letting emotions rule you. That being said I’m off to bitch to myself awhile lol. Once I get emotions in check THEN and only then will I decide if I still want my bedtime treat. ;) Sleep well my friends!

I have a love/hate relationship with those days lol.

My aunt worked in the kitchen so was able to tell me the portions in the taco salad. Turns out it wasn’t so bad after all lol. 1800 kcal vs 2600 if I would’ve kept the taco salad as logged, eaten the whole piece of pie and the whole shake.

Saturday is my 65th Birthday I will eat a healthy dinner but having a margarita or two and cake. 65 is a milestone!!
