peeperjj's Journal, 29 Jul 20

Most people come home from surgery and take a nap, watch tv, relax. Me? Was upset about a few things so called a friend. She ended up telling me about her recent problems for almost two hours (I had time to tell her about the blown veins but that’s it before she started about her problems. That’s ok)

Then I sat and fumed and raged in my head and wrote out a Facebook post for my TNBC group. They denied it saying I rambled too much and it was too long. They want me to edit it, condense it (they said both) and resubmit to see if it needs further editing.

Ah no thanks. It took me probably 20 min to half an hour to write it the first time with editing, rereading, correcting my horrible spelling and grammar etc before submitting it. Lots of editing lol.

Then I sat down for about an hour before making hamburgers and mashed potatoes for dinner. Now debating on calling my friend back or not because calling her after dinner almost always means a 4 hour phone call unless I make her mad and tell her I HAVE to sleep and basically hanging up.

Just for reference, this took me about 10 minutes to type out, reread and correct spelling. No guarantees that I caught them all though lol. Oh and pain level... 4 probably. Stupid bra is rubbing on the incision and that makes it hurt. If I lift it off then there’s just mild discomfort. Took two Advil hoping it would help. Going to Dr. Google to see how long I need this stupid bra. No way will I be able to sleep with it rubbing the incision. It also feels like I’m trussed up like a Christmas turkey. If I have the meaning of that phrase right lol. I feel like a 32DD shoved into a size small bra that the paper with it says it’s for a range of 30’s, 32a/b/c or 34a/b............ oh wait! I am shoved into exactly that!! And the band is cutting in on the widest hooks. Even my other implant with very little feeling has been throbbing off and on. The skin not the implant haha. (This post has taken 7 min to write and I haven’t edited it. Sry)

Oh you were busy. Sounds like it went well. Hope that bra can be dealt with. Hope you are fine today

Don’t ALLOW people to hijack your time. Start the conversation by telling them you are busy but have 10 minutes to chit chat then at 10 minutes tell them you need to hang up and get back to what you were doing— then do it.

Hope you have a better day and your ta-tas heal quickly and you get better rest and your friends aren't obnoxious! That's all my wishes for you today! 😘

Lol thanks guys! I ended up not calling. I know she’s stressed and needs to talk too but I just couldn’t stay up half the night again. She’s two hours behind me in time and won’t be up for another hour or two. I’ll pick up the kid and run errands then call her. Ended up getting about 7 hours sleep. I got to sleep quickly but was up every two hours. Think the storms were waking me then insomnia kept me up a bit each time.

The tatas are good lol. Figured out I had an extra row of hooks so loosened it up that 1/4’. It’s got a zipper in the front so I unzipped it some last night to let the tatas relax some. This morning the right surgery side is itching inside like crazy. Inside means no amount of scratching or rubbing helps lol. I do this every time so it’s normal. I think it’s my body reacting to the foreign implant. Very little swelling so far. Looks like the bottom half will be a nice shade of purple soon lol. 2 Advil yesterday before I realized I could loosen it a bit. Only hurts when the band runs the incision wrong. Shooting pain occasionally down my right arm to elbow. Adjusted the strap thinking it might’ve been pinching something. Will see. It’s not constant just an irritant occasionally. So far recovery is a breeze. Cooked dinner with no issues last night, doing laundry and folded some this morning. Packing for this weekends tournament. I think the moving is probably helping the fluid and blood flow. Normally I’d be swollen and bruised by now but I also don’t have this much activity right after usually. Have to go to Walmart after picking the kiddo up. They will have to lift the cases of water for me.

May today be much better. The bra would be driving me more insane than I am now. I have friends like that and it's impossible to try to direct what you want to say in the convo.

Peeper— buy a Britta.

Lol yes! The bra is driving me nuts! After the last few years being able to go without or sports bras this one is super uncomfortable! I’m assuming they put me in it to limit swelling and bruising. I’ll ask if the hospital calls today to check on me. None of the paperwork mention a bra or how long to keep it on. Fingers crossed for 24-48 hours only!

We used to have a britta. Now we have crisp clear we’ll after but I still dislike water. Propel or sweet tea is good. Pop as a treat. Coffee on occasion when I’m not too lazy to make it lol.

Oh gosh, peeper... Sounds like craziness. I'm sorry. It seems like a sympathetic ear rather than a busy mouth would have been nice to have in a friend yesterday. I hope you are feeling more comfortable soon. Try not to do too much, dear! ❤️

Oh new boobs! Awesome peeps!! 😉😉 Seriously, I missed all the action but caught up I hope. Here’s to healing and being free from a bra!? Really? With these, you don’t need one? I’m curious? Cause they don’t sag? You’re soooo lucky if that’s the case! Hope my questions are appropriate, if not, delete this. 😎

Wifey, I’m completely open about all of this! Anything I don’t feel comfortable answering on the public forum I’ll send in a message but that’s rare. To get ahead of cancer I had a hysterectomy and mastectomy back in 2016. They found cancer at the mastectomy so had chemo. Lost an implant on my bday 2016. Got a new PS, expander and implant 2017-2018. FDA recalled the other one because of a link to a rare blood cancer but said no rush on removing so we were waiting. Fast forward to 2020 with my scans and issues and they found the reactive nodes and a possible rupture of the old recalled implant. Surgeon had a last minute cancelation and offered me first take on it so we exchanged it to match the left side. 405 cc I believe. The old one was like a 505 so there was a bit of cup difference.

Now that they are the same bras sound fit better and I’m hopeful my ‘sexy’ underwire bras will fit these implants better. Some drs recommend bras with implants and others don’t. They’ll sag over time as they are heavy but not as bad as real breasts I think. These are basically my post pregnancy size (b cup originally, a cup after 1st baby, b cup after 2nd and d/dd after 3rd baby lol). All depends on the bra and how it’s made. I wear sports bras a lot because I find them comfortable and it takes the weight off my upper back. They don’t tell you about back pain when you get implants! I don’t find bras necessary most of the time though. The implants are fairly high like before kids and I choose round so it looks like I have a push up bra on all the time lol. They look awesome in clothes! Not so much without, but that’s the trade off I guess. Ya gotta look at the positive side of everything in life and the implants are the positive side to my cancer lol. They still don’t feel real or like they are mine. Kinda like a nice dress that makes you look good. It isn’t part of you but you still like how you look in it. I just can’t take them off lol.

Melissa, this friend and I have marathon 4-8 hour phone calls since she moved a few states away. I’m used to it. We both can be a little selfish at times on what we want to talk about as we both have a lot going on. I just found it hard to sympathize with her money issues when she has a ton of it when I was having emotional issues. I could’ve been more sympathetic as she could’ve been willing to give me an hour to vent. 🤷‍♀️ She wants me to call her back tonight to talk about it all. Maybe I’ll get it all out then ;).

Thanks for the deats Peep!! Interesting stuff. Did all this effect the tats?
30 Jul 20 by member: wifey9707
Nope! For some reason he went underneath in the crease where your underwire sits rather than through the old scar across the nipple area. He could’ve just gotten the end of the tat if he had went across.

I guess people aren't perfect! I'm glad you have her. Sounds like someone important to you! I hope today has been a little better in the discomfort department! Wow... reading about the "whole" journey altogether... You have surely had some difficult tiems. I really, really hope things are settled now.
