I’m noticing an old pattern reforming. 3-4 years ago I ate what I wanted when I wanted. After chemo especially I decided I wasn’t limiting myself. If I wanted to eat out or grab a fast food snack I did. After 4 months of surgeries and chemo and not having the energy to get dressed up just to go eat I felt I deserved it.

The last couple of months I’ve not been active per dr orders. I’ve started eating more food overall and more ‘junk’. Want pizza kids? Why not! Want McDonald’s? OK! I’ve had very little chance to get out of the house on my own for anything other than volunteering at the school and shopping.

Fast forward to today and I was hungry. Thought about treating myself to a nice meal alone. Then thought I’d rather save the money and grab something quick. Couldn’t make up my mind and wanted it all. Settled on a double quarter pounder with cheese and nuggets. Not the best choice, but I figured it up mentally and it’s the highest protein choice out of everything I wanted. Decided not to order the fries and parfait. The McFlurry looked good too but I passed on it as well. Time to get my eating under control before it shows up on the scale. It’s already showing up on the tummy 😫.

Knowing is half the battle. Despite my wanting to do better today my appointment ended up running late so I had to grab lunch in town. Ordered a double chicken quesadilla so I got plenty of protein. Dine out fundraiser tonight for the school. Choose large tots and a regular cheeseburger rather than the double meat I wanted. Turned out to be a small burger and they gave me regular tots. So saved some kcals there lol. Family sucking down some shakes and mixes right now. I chose to save those calories for a snickers or maybe cheese later. As much as I like ice cream I didn’t want to spend the 1000 calories on a cookie dough malt.

Good luck with it! You already have the knowledge and you have controlled “it” before so the tummy should return to normal soon. Saving for a Snickers sounds good!

I think I’m stuck with the tummy until I get back in the gym. I’m good as long as it doesn’t grow lol. I ended up having 2 fun size York peppermint patties and a snickers for the days snacks. Not the best choice but way better than that ice cream lol. I’m finding it easier to eat a bit better than I thought. Turned down fast food today even though I really wanted it lol. Settled for a diet cherry limeade instead of a candy bar and am having a quick boxed meal at home instead of 4 tacos or a burger and fries from town. I’ll probably break down and have pizza soon because making my own didn’t help the craving at all. Gorge once on it then portion it out for 1-3 more lunches depending on how much the kiddos eat. Got a plan anyway!
