I washed a big bunch of kale today and it takes FOREVRR! Have fill bowls with water and off off each stem above the plastic band, then submerge it in the water and rub the whole thing with my fingers to remove dirt, bugs and flotsam. after I've done this for every branch and every viable leaf I go through it cutting the leaf from the stem and then cutting the leaf into smaller pieces. then freeze or put in fridge. it took me over an hour today, was wondering how long it takes you or if you have any tricks and hints

I generally just cut about 2cm off the stalk and wash it in a sink full of cold water. If it was at all limp looking I leave it in cold water to plump up a bit. I used to strip the leaf off the stalks, but I don’t bother any more, I eat all of it! Stalks need some cooking but I’d rather do it all at once in a big steamer then divide it into meal portions.
