Debbie Cousins's Journal, 02 Jul 21

This was actually the "before" picture of me for the 60-pound HealthyWager Challenge. In case you haven't read my profile, that picture was almost three years ago and was after a Sephora Makeover.

For those of you who don't yet know (if there are any of you left, LOL): I want to share something that helped me to stay focused on on accomplishing my personal goal of losing 60 pounds in six months, which I achieved by my deadline of June 27th. I got paid $1,368.77 on a $276 investment! ($868.77 payout plus $500 in referral bonuses)

It’s a website/app called HealthyWage, and they actually PAY YOU to lose weight! My personal link to check it out is HealthyWage Link. The reason you’ll want to use my link is that if you decide to join, you’ll get $40 added to your prize payout!

Let me assure you that, before I joined HealthyWage, I checked them out thoroughly on Snopes (which flags hoaxes – no mention at all) and on the Better Business Bureau (where they have a 4.7 out of 5-star rating!) I also checked out all the videos of interviews on such shows as The Today Show, Good Morning America, The Doctors, etc. This program is completely legit, and has been around since 2009. Last year alone, they awarded over $13 MILLION in prize money to those who accomplished their weight-loss goals!

The way the program works is this: You decide on an amount you want to “wager” that you’ll accomplish your goal (however many pounds you choose, but at least 10% of your body weight – so if you weigh 200 pounds, you’d have to lose at least 20, etc.) and the amount of time in which you will do it (anywhere from 6-18 months).

They have a Prize Calculator on their website, where you can play around with those variables and see how much you will be awarded if you accomplish your goal. I placed a pretty high wager ($46/month), so my payout was over THREE TIMES what I put into the program. My total investment was $276, and I was awarded $868.77 when I reached my goal (plus, $500 in referral bonuses). How much you’ll get depends on how much you “bet”, how much you want to lose, and how long you select for your challenge to last. You can wager as little as $17/month for the 6-month challenge period (even less for the 12-18 month timeframes), and you can either pay it all up front or have it come out in monthly installments.

I know it sounds too good to be true, but it IS true! Check it out for yourself, using my link, and see if this is something that you feel would be motivating to you! Knowing that I had that money going out each month was a great motivator to stay on track and knowing that I would get over THREE TIMES what I put in made it even MORE motivating and exciting!

Are you willing to bet on yourself to accomplish your goal? If you’re going to lose the weight anyway, you might as well GET PAID to do it! Check it out at: HealthyWage Link. Let me know if you join, so I can cheer you on to reaching your goal!

May God bless! Debbie Cousins

P.S., I've entered another six-month challenge to get from 199 down to 165!

Good Luck ! Interesting how faces change so much with weight. Do you have a pic to share of after the 60 lb weight loss?

Maybe this time around, pace yourself so you don't have to quit eating completely for two months. =) You've got this!

@she_loves, I'm hoping I learned something the first time around. The problem was that I gave up hope before the cause was hopeless, then came to my senses. @crazycatchick, no picture yet. @jimmiepop, amen!

I sure like the color of your hair. The pink did nothing for me. We all are more wrinkled after losing weight, so we just have to accept that side effect. It's worth it though. Letting loose after being so strict has caught up with me. How to get control again? I'm talking to myself but those free sweets from the church and being able to have bread is seductive. Sugar and chocolate are so addictive to me. I've gained about 5 lbs. in 7 days.

You did fabulous and undoubtedly will succeed again! The lessons you learned through your experience will stay with you and carry you through, along with your faith! I wish I had known about this before I lost my weight!

Tassos67 said it very well. Not everyone will lose weight through a moderate approach and approaches based in abstinence are not doomed to fail. It very much depends on your personality and history with food. And not everyone will maintain the weight loss using the approach they used to lose it but can still learn and find ways to keep it off. We can adapt or use a variety of tools to lose or maintain weight at different times.

Congrats! Also, I'd advise anyone to go with a low weight loss. There is a reason their business model works. The vast majority of people fail.

@Tassos67, thanks for jumping to my defense. I have had numerous problems with this individual in the past, and I just delete her unkind comments and try to forget it and move on. I try to take the higher ground whenever I am able to (and sometimes that really takes work and means I have to bite my tongue - this was one of those cases). I cannot fault you, though, for refuting an obviously insensitive statement. I'm going to remove your comment, only because it has that person's name in it, and I don't want to engage her or argue with her in my own Journal entries.

@adefwebserver, welcome aboard! It was so fun last go-round having three other people from FS doing the challenge with me. So far, two have signed up to join me for this time. I don't know who they are unless they tell me, though, because it only shows me the email address (which usually doesn't match with their FatSecret username). Thanks for letting me know it was you! Private message me and let me know how long you committed for and what your goal is, so I can encourage you on to success!

@Debbie Cousins - Yeah I just got my weigh-in verified (Kinda weird how you have to record a video using their app. I had to have my wife do it because I don't have a large mirror in front of a floor that doesn't have carpet (that wont work with a floor scale). I plan to just fast because that is what worked for me in the past. But, now that I have potentially $300 of my own money on the line I know I will finally be 'motivated' to do it :) I just could not find the motivation to fast more than 1 day since COVID 😢

@adefwebserver, I've always said, "If someone would PAY me to lose weight, I'd do it!" Well, lo and behold this program has been around since 2009, but I just found out about it in December. May the Lord prosper you, and give you good success!

@Debbie Cousins - Thanks! I suspect I will probably 'screw around' until I'm about to 'lose money' and then 'get serious'. I wish I could 'be better', but, I know myself...
