Our friends from South Africa treated us to a traditional South African meal tonight! Homemade garlic bread and cheesy garlic bread, pap, Sheba, carrot salad, sausages, steak and a yogurt dessert! I have no idea how to log this so I did the best I could. It was so good! I hate trying new things and am super picky but the meat was great, loved the bread (I’d make with less garlic as I dislike garlic) and carrot salad (was sweet) and the yogurt dessert was good too! Not a fan of pap and Sheba, it’s like mashed potatoes with no milk, butter or salt but made with corn rather than potatoes and the Sheba was onions and tomatoes and of course I don’t care for them. Proud of myself for trying it all but the dogs loved what I didn’t finish. One dog kept leaning on my chair and giving me puppy dog eyes so he shared a lot of my plate 😂. It’s like eating in front of a hungry child who wants your food but doesn’t dare ask. How do you just eat and ignore that poor dog?!? He’s quite well fed so I think he must do this a LOT 😝.
