Reaaaallly struggling with motivation. To eat well, exercise or leave the house at all, sleep, drink water. Can't force myself. Does anyone have any nifty tips to trick yourself into motivation? Coz apparently 'feeling like crap' isn't enough of a motivation for me

Do a daily weigh-in using this app.....it keeps me motivated, and I'm usually hopeless at staying motivated! Nothing gets me off my butt, or eating better, more than putting my daily weight out there for all to see 👍😁

You have to somehow figure out what is important to you. Motivation DOES NOT get this done. Habit does. A lifestyle change does. Deprivation does not. It sounds like you may need to seek a little joy in your life that will also help you keep going on a healthier path both mentally and physically.

Thanks guys. I was just feeling depressed yesterday I guess. Struggling to get it done. Kenna you're right, I do need some joy in my life, it's pretty empty rn.

It's hard to be motivated, but I usually find logging everything, even if having an unhealthy day/s does kind of build the habit, and also helps you to identify where easy cuts (like butter on sandwiches etc) can be made..and it can be built upon as you change your habits.

Watching biggest loser is a good way to motivate me. Also meeting a friend for a walk. Also going to F45 gym classes cos once your in there you have to do it. If you can get your exercise done in the morning that usually helps. But I’m feeling the same way my town is back in lockdown due to Covid so I can only do Zoom classes for F45 so that’s bummed me out.

Do you play any sport..? Or have a passion for any activity…. Suggest for you to enter an event. I find the motivation significantly increases once you commit to an event in the distance. Could be a anything. Just sign up or get the entry in… it changes your mind set. Hope that helps.

I always set an alarm even when I'm off work to do a 45-60 minute fast paced walk every morning I usually go before the kids get up and my husband hasn't left for work that time is me time where I refocus and plan my day! And like very one else track your food a day before if you can I also by fruit and veg from a veggie shop so I'm enticed to buy heaps of fresh produce that I know is good for me I leave cut up cantaloupe watermelon sliced strawberries and blueberries in the fridge so each morning I start my day right

I look at it as a task/duty. I have to get 30 minutes of walking minimum a day. I do walking on the spot at night. You can find videos on YouTube (Growwithjo has good ones). Food, wise if I am too stressed I relax a little. Allow myself to eat at maintenance calories for a few days. Than go back to calorie restriction.

well you have a great result so far so i would be using that to try to get me to keep going or atleast not slip back while your waiting for the energy to return. You cant be motivated all the time. go easy on yourself

try investing in a treadmill. on days that you don't feel like going out, put on some music and jump on the treadmill even if its just 10 mins it make a difference. I struggle with motivating myself a lot as well but I've noticed making these little changes encourages me more

A minute in the mouth, an hour in the stomach and a lifetime on the hips……..keep telling myself whenever I’m tempted….good luck!
