Middle kiddo has covid (very mild case). The rest of us tested negative today except my husband who was out of town and has his own area that we don’t go into. I COULD cook but I’m lazy. I COULD go grab something from town but again I’m lazy. It may be a ramen night! My calories will be high as it never keeps me full long so I will snack later but I will have three happy kids. Ramen- $3 bottles of Pop- $8 Quick, easy and all 3 kids happy with me at the same time? Priceless…

Plus I’m so hungry right now I’m weak and shakey. So I can have a candy bar and cook when my energy is up OR throw in some quick ramen after having a mint and snack later (and hopefully make a good choice then).

I don’t know what to say to this post— yes I do actually but I think I will apply duct tape to mouth instead. Hope your little guy’s recovery is uneventful.

She has a VERY mild case thankfully! We thought it was a sight cold until she said she couldn’t smell my perfume much so we tested her. Very slight cough and the occasional sneeze (we all have seasonal allergies), slight loss of smell and she’s tired. She said the covid test was worse than having covid! And she enjoys laying around reading and taking naps. She’s went through her whole Harry Potter movies again, a couple books and I just left some new movies outside her door today. She’s going outside and practicing her shot (basketball), taking walks up and down the driveway etc. Her appetite was diminished for a few days when we thought it was a cold like I had (always get one the first cold front that moves through each fall), but is now back and she’s eating normally again. They ALL loved the ramen!

@Kenna, love the duct tape as I have to use it myself often! However by now I hope you know as long as you phrase things fairly respectfully you can pretty much say what you want on my posts! I’ll take a guess… Ramen and soda pop are bad and I shouldn’t be lazy? I agree with that if that’s what you are thinking! However the kids are allowed a package of ramen each week as a treat and a pop only when we go eat or as a treat. Today I had to run to town for more tests so picked up a pop for each of us. The ramen I had hidden because why oldest was sneaking them late at night and eating the whole months worth (her sisters share too!). So they haven’t had any for the last couple of weeks. We’ve been cooking homemade soups, meat and veggies lately. If we had been consuming a lot of junk food I’d have found the energy to make tacos or burgers. Another possible thought you may have… why am I locking myself on my area instead of being close to my sick kiddo? On that well, we have vet appointments this week that I’ve waited months for. If I reschedule then I’m looking at spring 😩. By then we will have even more litters of kittens so I need to get the stays fixed and the ones we brought inside. I also have a litter with worms and they are doing poorly so I HAVE to get to the vet or risk them dying. I do take snacks and meals to my little sicky (her nickname as she is the one that says she feels bad, immediately vomits then goes about running around!). I make sure she has books and movies, time outside in the fresh air, she can call her friends AND she’s texting me at least 30 times a day. I set up Amazon lists so they can add Christmas ideas and it keeps her busy after her movies and reading. I did allow her 2 hours a day on her phone rather than the usual 30 minutes. If I haven’t covered it feel free to say whatever is on your mind ;).

Oh My G-D - I am exhausted for you --- forget the Ramen Noodles and Pop of today - only once a month ??? SuperMOM - That sounds like a good meal idea every day... Wow.

Once a week ;). But I get the 13 pack for all three kids to share and it seems my oldest ate half of them in a week. So they got hidden since September. The pop is just when we are running errands and everyone has drank their water, restaurants, vacations and the occasional treat. We used to do meals out or ice cream for everything. Now we try to limit it to just a pop or candy bar and save meals out for bigger things like birthdays. Trying to get the kids to make healthier choices and understand why they should. Not easy with a teenager! I want them well rounded in their food choices and to nothing is truly bad so they get some unhealthy meals on occasion. At one point they tried the ‘I won’t eat meat because it comes from an animal and will only eat veggies’. Then they wanted chocolate milk, ice cream and candy bars constantly. Had to explain no meat for the reason of animals means they can’t have anything with milk either! Changed their time quickly. Some days I can get through to them and not others. 😂 They need to know junk food is fine in moderation. They don’t understand why I get a snickers a few times a week but they want them twice a day rather than 3x a week! All about balance :)

Oh and not a supermom BUT the kids were super happy last night! They rarely get just ramen for a meal. They had pork loin, Mac and cheese and green beans tonight. Not a single complaint about a healthy meal because they had a junky meal last night :).

I crave ramen, chicken noodle soup, Mac and cheese and potatoes and gravy when sick! Comfort food! All’s well in the Peeper household! McK is over being sick and has most of her energy back. She just can’t smell much but it’s slowly coming back. Nobody else got sick! Sad thing is we didn’t even clean the house afterwards! Everyone used germx and Lysol in family areas, wore masks when close to each other etc but we got super busy right after quarantine ended and I just realized I never got around to deep cleaning and sanitizing! (Several vet appointments, dr checkups, practices started etc) My guess is we were exposed before we knew she was sick (she sept in my bed with one of her sisters and I) and our immune systems took care of it OR it wasn’t that contagious 🤷‍♀️. McK is my child who picks up every bug! She gets over it quickly however. It’s just like her immune system is lazy until it realizes there’s something to fight then it works it’s butt off to get her healthy quickly so it can be lazy for another 6-12 months 😂. She literally says I don’t feel good, vomits, takes a half hour nap and is ready to go! The flu will have us down 3-7 days and 2 days she’s up and going again. She’s been that way for the last 10 years or so. 🤷‍♀️
