Looks so good! If I had bacon in the house I would make some right now! (Even though it's after 8 pm! 🤣) Hope your tongue is feeling better!

Ever since I participated in Atkins 2010 Book, I have kept bacon in my refrigerator, and freezer, without fear of eating it. I cook it until it is "lean" and then blot it thoroughly. I like bacon once or twice a week.

Thanks! I love bacon and eggs but it’s starting to upset my tummy for some reason. I always cook my bacon a lot. I don’t like eating the fat but once it’s crispy it’s good. I also blot the grease (paper towels under and on top) and go so far as to drain the fat off during cooking which seems to help.

No word on the biopsy yet. The de told me the lab was behind and don’t expect to hear from them for at least 7 days. Thursday would be a week. Called Monday and the nurse said they usually get the results back on Monday or Tuesday, but was confused as to why they already made me an appointment because they usually only do that when the results are back. She said she would check into it but I haven’t heard anything back. Will probably call them again today. My guess is the longer it takes them then the worse it is.

I love my bacon and eggs lol. I started doing a fried egg and 2 slices of bacon over 9 grain toast with avacado. the avacado probably makes it a little on the fatty side, but I think it's okay in moderation (healthy fats and all). I'm still learning, this is all a new journey for me. your breakfast looks super tasty though!

@cay thanks. I don’t care for avocados but I’ve thought about mashing some for toast for my family who loves them. I usually skip making toast because I usually make fried eggs, scrambled eggs fixed up with meats, veggies and cheese (I sauté the onions and mushrooms), bacon and sometimes sausage and/or pancakes too. Adding toast on top of that means I’ll burn something and it’s usually the toast in our old toaster 😝. I like fried eggs and bacon because it’s just enough fat to make me feel full and fairly low calorie. I think it’s around 450-500 calories. I skip breakfast (have since I was a kid) so I make breakfast foods for dinner. I’ve also been skipping lunch a lot lately and having a bedtime snack instead. I make up for it with high calorie foods like pizza and it works for me since I’m in maintenance. I don’t recommend doing that a lot starting out.

I've never understood how I got to where I am now, like I always thought I don't eat that much... Wtf. I could eat breakfast and then go 15-24 hours before eating again because I am just not hungry. So far my approach has been weighing everything that goes into my mouth for appropriate portion control and trying to implement frequent small snacks. Seems to be helping 🤷🏽‍♀️ lol. Kinda winging it on my own since the nutritionists I've seen haven't been very helpful. Will definitely keep following for alternatives and new meal ideas!

That’s what I do! I weigh everything unless it’s something I know like fried eggs or toast. My weight gain was due to pregnancies then chemo before I’d lost the last baby weight. I ate very little during the first chemo and still gained. Ate lots of carbs and comfort foods with the second chemo and gained about the same so I know it was the meds. Was so hard to get it off! What you’ll find on my journal is a lot of meat, restaurant food and things you probably shouldn’t have as most consider them trigger foods. I went so long without them I refuse to do that again but I do limit them and/or make up with healthier things like salads, tuna salad, hamburger patties and eggs :).

I found that for me small low calorie snacks like beef jerky and rice crispy treats helped! I could have a few each day to keep hunger at bay or when wanting to snack and it didn’t ruin my whole days calorie limits.
