Surgery Update: I was not going to have my knee replacement “revision” (taking out partial and installing total) until 9/14/23. The reason I was waiting so long was because I didn’t want the grandkids to have to miss out on the pool. Today, my twin friends said that they will take the kids to the pool when I can’t. So, I got the first available appointment, which is 7/27/23 - five weeks away. Pre-surgery visit to my PCP next Tuesday to give the all clear for surgery. Then, pre-surgery visit with surgeon on 7/10. I started doing the pre-surgery exercises on 5/3, so I’m very well prepared already. Already done them for 6 weeks, and still have five more weeks to get both knees strengthened. That’s over twice as long as most people do them. Motivated to lose some more weight before surgery because my walking will be cut WAY down and I won’t be burning as many calories for awhile after the operation. Hoping it won’t take too long, though, to get back up to my five miles a day!

I hope you have as good a result as my husband has had with his knee replacements. He did his PT exercises faithfully before and after surgery. It makes a huge difference.

Thank you rhontique, Asarver and shirfleur 1! I really want to see good results with this knee replacement. Since I had a partial left and total right 6-1/2 years ago, I have never been pain-free or been able to easily do stairs, cross my legs, etc. might need my left one re-done, too. He’ll take X-rays of it when I go for my pre-surgery consult on 7/10. I would LIKE to get that one replaced, too, as the functionality of it is almost as bad as my right.
