Oh okay I can see it now... Sorry being blind on the one eye really affects my vision and it makes it hard for me to differentiate certain colors in particular but also textures. Honestly I thought it was a baked casserole 🥘🤔, personally I like fruit cake I dry the fruits myself and put in my own nuts and add apples and bananas and all sorts of fun things. But I can't eat Moschino cherries because they're dyed and they would put me in the hospital so that would not be worth it so I have to make them myself so I get to be creative and kind of fun with what I do with them. 😁

It is sorta like a fruit cake, but MUCH better, kaylinrenee. It is a Franklin Nut cake, Leah_guffey. The one cake has (among other ingredients) FOUR sticks of Butter, FOUR cups of Pecan’s, a tub of candied Cherries, a tub of candied Pineapple (which I dye green), SIX Eggs, surprisingly only 2 cups of Sugar. Very rich and decadent 🤤 Morticia, but I usually only make one for myself a year, and I share it with several people. I’ll probably only get 2 slices out of this one, because it is for the church Christmas 🤶 party. The trick will be not eating BOTH of those slices today!

I would love to sit down with all of you and enjoy a slice and a cup of hot tea.

Would you share the recipe? I’d love to make one. There’s ways around it. Make half in a loaf pan, smaller slices. I always find ways to eat the things I love, no guilt and no regrets.

Sounds delicious I would have to change the cherries a bit maybe Brandy cherries 🍒 I would just have to be careful to dry them out a well so they wouldn't make the cake soggy (dry, quarter, and flour them). Plus brandied cherries would be more traditional for fruit cake anyways the macchiato cherries just became more normal because people became funny about alcohol during the prohibition after all soaking the fruit in alcohol did preserve it and did no harm to the flavor or the loveliness of the dish LOL. 😁

Obviously, I wouldn't give any to the children having alcohol in it of course! That much alcohol would not make out and I would not want to put the children in any risk or danger,. But the alcohol would still be delicious for the adults and it's not like during the holidays or aren't plenty of sweets for the children. In a perfect world if I had good bourbon I'd also make some bourbon balls. Another bad habit that I would enjoy if I had extra income. My Mom has a really good recipe for them.

Wifey9707, I have the recipe in a Word document, which I would be happy to send you if you can PM me with your email address. It’s too lengthy to type in here.
