Debbie Cousins's Journal, 09 Feb 24

Things are trucking along. I’m eating everything in sight because I’m having a wisdom tooth extracted on Monday and won’t be able to chew at all because I have no bottom molars on the non-extraction side. Weight is staying under 200, thankfully, but not by much. I can’t believe I’ve allowed myself to gain TWENTY pounds! I keep praying that the Lord would take control of my eating again, but I keep making all the wrong decisions. Yesterday, I ate SIX Entenmann’s Mini Donuts.

Things are going somewhat better in the home. Grandson hasn’t been quite as volatile.

Drinking only 2-3 cans of Diet Coke a day now, but drinking a bunch of caffeine free root beer along with it. Not drinking any water. Sigh.

So glad to hear about your grandson. I wonder what has caused the vast improvement. At least the rootbeer is caffeine free. Try the sugar free, caffeine free. Maybe some water with lemon. Good that you are staying below 200!!! My hubby loves those mini doughnuts and has probably eaten a ton of them at work.

Hey Debbie, well done on getting your Diet Coke down to 2-3! Small steps and you should acknowledge your progress. Good luck with the tooth !

perhaps your environment has helped your grandson calm if hes been with you consistently lately? glad hes calmer!! aim for 1 glass of water a day, maybe make a calendar/use a specific calendar for this, put a check mark on days you had one glass, when that becomes easier bump it 2 glasses! slow consistent changes!!

Congratulations on lowering your sodas. Proud of you!! You should try and get more water 💦 in though.

So glad to hear your grandson is doing better. Bless him, he must feel so conflicted, he probably doesn't even know why he acts out. Great on the diet coke! You are trying your hardest to get back to your WOE that has worked so well for you in the past. REad back thru some of your previous posts and remind yourself what you are capable of.

I don't know if this will help, but I simply can't drink tap water, and I can only stomach one or two bottled waters a day. I switched to sparkling water. Then hubs realized I was drinking $150 per month, so he got me a SodaStream (a different brand), and we're saving a ton on the grocery bill. Also, it's a lot less garbage and messing with the stupid ton cans! Without sparkling water, I'd never get my daily water.

GigiDunaway, interesting idea. I’m also drinking over $120 a month in sodas (and that’s only that “low” because I always buy a ton when they’re Buy 1 Get 1 afr
