I have had one hell of a mega-cheat day today 2800 cals +. Will be back on the keto from Monday. Was just not feeling it today. I will probably pay for this tomorrow when I step on the scale.
90.2 kg Lost so far: 63.9 kg.    Still to go: 3.2 kg.    Diet followed: Reasonably Well.

I was under the impression with keto diets that when you stumble and break ketosis it takes days/weeks to reach it again? is their any truth to that?

depends if your fat adapted or not. everyone cycles in and out of ketosis differently. usually a few days if your strict

it takes a few days yes (not all of us cheat) it's just not worth it. It's like taking 10 steps forward and 3 steps back. You can do it eightpack! we believe in you! ✊

Think of it as Carb Cycling, not cheating! You might be surprised and actually record a good loss in a few days. I often have a high carb day

Hi guys thanks for the responses. I find honest responses help bring out reality that sometimes one does not think about when they decide to have a cheat day. Keith and missdemoness you are correct it takes time for body to get back into Keto. Last time it took me 3 days. Trent you are also correct in saying it is like taking 10 steps back 3 forward. However, I also find that confusing your body now and then can help break plateaus and refresh the body somewhat. I have just measured my blood ketone levels and my level was 0.1 mmol/l which is marginal but means my body is still in keto. Unfortunately I only have one more lancet in the fastclix drum and can only buy a new box tomorrow. So will use remaining lancet to take a reading tomorrow morning otherwise would have loved to take a reading before I sleep.

It will be the first day of my diet today. Im going to try and stick to 1200 calories today. 😅

Good on you, Caliente, my advice, pick a diet and eat as many calories as you can whilst losing weight. Do not run to cut calories too low as your metabolism will follow. I found out the hard way. All the best.

It simply means you are burning a surplus of 2400 Cal's a day if you can consume 2400 and lose weight
