chrisw77's Journal, 18 Dec 19

I actually did lose muscle this past month. Nothing visually noticeable, but the tape measure tells the truth.

There was a time when I'd have freaked a little about this, but I understand this one - the measurement was more a confirmation.

These past couple months, work has been sapping my life away, followed by vacation for a week, and the cherry on top: a couple days of flu... a recipe for gym absence.

I've never felt the "I don't wanna" - just the "I physically don't have the energy".

Anyone who knows me knows I'm not one for excuses and I absolutely love my workout days, so this is truly bumming me out.

Just gotta do the best I can with what I've got until March when my schedule changes again.

Enough complaining! 🤬 I'm capitalizing on what time I DO have! Time to stop the shrinks! 💪

I totally understand "wanting" to work out and not being able to. I've never had that "I don't feel like working out" feeling. Hope you feel better and get back into your routine. :O)

The past month hasn't been so hot on the "gains" for me either. There are always lulls and there is always time to make up for them. Muscle memory is awesome as well. You'll get it back, man!

Awesome! I love higher reps for sure. I recently went lower with heavy weight on bench and pulled something. I am coming back nicely but I still feel a little pain. I set up a camera and put 300 on the bar, I was planning on getting 6 reps but felt the pain at number 3. Sticking to 15-40 reps for the time being.

Yeah, 3500 average plus a full weekend at the in-laws makes Diablo gain and not in a good way. I was 182 not too long ago. Came back from vacay at 194. Down to 190 today.
