Haven’t been weighing in as we were in the mountains. We let our tiny dog out to go potty and it was so cold and snowy I just watched from our trailer door hoping he wouldn’t get eaten by a coyote. He’d hop right back into the trailer when he was done. Open the back gate to let him in the backyard when we got home and he was attacked by our neighbor’s new dog that got into our backyard somehow. Here I was worrying about coyotes and he got attacked in his own safe backyard.
Thank goodness I was close!! I got him out of that dog’s mouth and brought him inside and he’s recuperating and getting better. 😊He would’ve been killed if I wasn’t right there. Never did like their new dog! The dog they had was just wonderful and they still have it, yet for some reason they went out and got another dog that is not nice. It’s a husky, usually they’re not mean. Anyway we’re eating chicken because our little dog loves chicken and he’s being spoiled for a while.😄❤️

Thank you Liv! DFinch83 you know I love your dog, Daisy. I lost our lab about a year ago who looked exactly like your dog. Then on top of that my best friend’s dog is named Daisy. So I want you to spoil your dog tool. 😄😄😄 Our little dog went with my husband for a very short walk, so I am hoping he’ll recover soon and not feel any soreness.😊

Are they first time husky owners? I have one and they are basically like cats but dog sized. They can climb fences, climb trees, can fit their entire body through any gap that their head can easily clear, open gates/doors, and have a crazy high prey drive (anything smaller than them that moves). Mine is older and has mellowed out a lot but, I have come home to him on top of our refrigerator and opens fence gates if left unsupervised/not tied up. I’m really surprised that they haven’t been really watching their new husky to make sure that it can’t escape because it is soooo common for this breed. I am so sorry that they weren’t paying attention and that this happened to your fur baby. Wishing him a speedy recovery!!! 🙁😭💙

Thank you everyone for the well wishes for my little one. I know he’s getting better as he took a little car ride with me today, but he is very slow as he walks for he is still pretty sore.🙁 Thank you Kelsey for the information on huskies. I didn’t know they were like that and I think it’s pretty funny he was on your refrigerator. Ever since the attack I haven’t seen their dogs, they might be at a relatives house for a while. They may be scared of getting sued. I would never do that because I have horse property and it’s impossible to not holes dug somewhere under the fence line as it’s very long. They were very apologetic. I just never knew they had a prey instinct. I’m sad that they just won’t play together. Anyway, have a great Wednesday - the first Wednesday of the new year. 😊👍👏

I am so glad you were able to rescue your dog. What a horrible thing to have! I watch The Incredible Dr. Pol, and many dog owners bring in their pets after being attacked by either another dog or a coyote. It's so sad.

Oh no! Poor puppy. I hope your neighbors secure their beast before there's another incident.

Oh your poor puppy! We have a heeler that isn't always nice but her "bark" is worse than her "bite" She is almost 9 and more grouchy than anything else. Regardless, we always leash her and are very responsible when we have her out. We don't think she would ever hurt anyone but you never know...We adopted her at 6 years old so who knows what her former life was like..she is great with us but very skiddish around others.

I am so sorry. That is absolutely terrifying. Twice in my life I've had my dogs attacked, and it the stuff of nightmares. I hope both you and your little dog are recovering. ❤️

Awww so sorry. Full recovery for your doggie. ❤️❤️

It sounds silly, but you might want to get a Coyote proof jacket for when he goes outside. Looks like a Mohawk on a doggie vest, but keeps predators from being able to bite, including huskeys. DM me if you want more info.

Oh MY..

Katsolo thank you, thank you!!! Where were you last weekend? I never heard of such a thing. As silly as some of the vests look, I really need one for the mountains so I can let him out of the trailer at night to pee and not worry so much that a coyote will nab him. That’s really the answer although my husband says it looks like an UFO alien outfit. He just steps out and comes right back in, yet there are so many coyotes and bobcats along with mountain lions that are hungry I really do fret letting him out. That is the answer! Thanks again, I am excited about him not being calories for any of them.😄👍

Coyotes were picking off dogs and cats in our neighborhood and still do from time to time. I started seeing these on the smaller dogs. I think they help, but i don’t know that they could stop a mountain lion, that would be a whole different level. You always need to be aware.
