Debbie Cousins's Journal, 19 Jan 21

Discouraged this morning. I've only lost 1/2 pound in the past eight days. Had a couple of good bathroom trips yesterday and still this morning, the scale won't budge off 250 pounds! I'm eating lot of fruit and vegetables and staying under 1,600 calories a day now. I'm drinking 8 8-oz bottles of water a day (still drinking Diet Coke, too) I even went to two different grocery stores yesterday to get in a little bit of walking (in spite of the fact that my Achilles heel spur is acting up again). HELP?
113.4 kg Lost so far: 4.1 kg.    Still to go: 45.4 kg.    Diet followed: 100%.

Stick with it! The scale will start to move down sometimes it does that for me but eventually it starts going down

It will move! Careful how much fruit you eat! It’s good for you yes but kind to a wt loss. I supplemented calories with fruit juice after a car accident with jaws wired. Years ago, but learned so many fruits very high in calories & carbs, without adding sugar. Once it moves( the scale) it’ll keep going I’m sure. Continue consistency!🍀

Try eating more protein, more veggies, eat less fruit and drink more water.

Just give it time. The body of research shows that whole fresh fruit is either neutral (no effect) for fat loss or (very) modestly beneficial because it usually replaces more calorically foods. Enjoy your fruit. The dose is simply not comparable to that in products containing HFCS, for example.

I agree, keep going. The body is a weird thing. Sometimes I feel lighter and when I weigh I've gained for NO REASON WHATSOEVER! Then a couple days later I'll get a drop and again, no rhyme or reason other than staying the course.

Stay encouraged. It will happen.

I always stall for a few days when trying to lose weight. All the sudden it will come off, as long as you are trying to adjust your intake and stay within your RDI. Be careful of eating to many sugary fruits. Apples are a good choice because they have alot of fiber.

You may have to be a little more active to nudge that scale !

Thanks, everyone. I'm feeling a little better about things now.

Sometimes the scale doesn't represent the real difference in numbers, but you can see it by measuring your body, or feel it on your clothes!

I suggest dropping the diet Coke and see if that helps. One day at a time, friend ❤️

Be careful with the fruit! Even though it is naturally occurring, fruit has sugar. Sugar will derail your diet plans significantly!

My doctor says stay away from Diet drinks as well. To much sodium. Try that and best of luck!

Avoid fruit. I’ve worked with women 15 years coaching weight loss. Fructose is not a healthy weight loss food for most. Visit YouTube and watch “the bitter truth by UCSF endocrinologist”. It usually the “thing”. Of course alcohol too and no more than 75 grams animal protein daily. Many people can’t lose because of a stressed liver. Good luck - drpatterson . Com

Hi Sweetie, Your are eating healthier!!! Great Job! Don't be discouraged and be kind to yourself. Just a few little adjustments may just do the trick. As many of our friends have mentioned try to increase vegetables and reduce the amount of fruit, just change the balance. Fruit adds sugar. Sugar turns to fat. Fruit also has vitamine benefits so think of them as a treat a small portion few times a week. Increase your water intake. Hydrate Hydrate Hydrate. Your skin will glow, you'll be energized. Watch your portion size. Make sure you get your exercise in. Diet Soda does have a lot of sodium, chemical colors, and the fizzies expand your stomach. Soda is not healthy for you kidneys. Finally, check with your doctor to make sure nothing more is happening. Stick with it. You're doing good
