Debbie Cousins's Journal, 26 Feb 21

Weight the same this morning. Today is an "I want to eat everything" day, but I'm trying to be responsible and keep my calories around 1,600. I need some excitement in my life. I'm SO bored, every day. I only do what I HAVE to around the house (namely, keeping the kitchen clean) and I do some cooking and we're never without clean clothes (though they may be crumpled up in a basket to be folded). I just don't have ANY motivation. We're starting four days in a row of rain today. Dreary weather makes ME dreary.
110.0 kg Lost so far: 7.5 kg.    Still to go: 42.0 kg.    Diet followed: 100%.

Any chance you could watch an exercise video? That is how I started many years ago - very easy and simple movements

Do you like puzzles, reading or games? You could do one or all of those things 😉

I hear that! being stuck inside makes me lazy too. I throw on a youtube HIT video and do it while listening to a podcast or a book. helps me!!

I have been in the same rut. Think of something you used to love to do. For me I remember riding my bicycle everywhere and lovin the free feeling. So after decades I just bought myself a bicycle. Also a hobby or class that makes you be somewhere at a specific time. Gets you out of the house. For me that was joining sweet adalines barbershop chorus. Chores are another thing. Tiny success is still success. Break it into mini tasks

I forget where you’re at, Debbie, but it finally got a bit warmer here in Missouri. It’s only 2 weeks away from the time change, and the increase in daylight/sunshine will help. You’re in my thoughts and prayers. 🙂

I think it was Shirl who mentioned that going to gym is a" job" You need to pick a time to do some activity and commit to that time everyday. That is your job. Plan different exercises you are able to do by looking online etc. I forget who it was but a while back a FS member loved to dance so she incorporated that into her day as much as she could. You express the desire to lose weight and sounds like the keto way works for you so keep up that commitment and add more movement. That will keep you busy and you will be less likely to falter. Boredom is not your friend when trying to lose weight.💜💜

Plant some seeds! I MUST get my tomato seeds started this weekend. I need to start them in trays 6 weeks in advance of when I plant them outside and I want to plant them in the garden by April 15, so they need to be started NOW!! Now is also a great time to start a lot of seeds, depending on where you live. I wanted to try growing micro greens this winter and so far haven't done that either. After the Valentine Arctic storm I'm going to have a lot of replanting to do, so I have a lot of clean up from that to do too. We're already in our 4 days of rain, mist and fog, and I'm anxious for it to pass so I can get outside. Do you grow things? There's so many options for growing things indoors.

@Debbie Cousins I use the reason why I want to lose weight as an excuse to get up and exercise. I also look at videos and photos of people who are at the goal that I am wanting to be at. I also find time to relax too. I try to get in a workout at least 5 days a week. I will split my time up when I workout too.

Hi Debbie sorry you have been feeling dreary. Did you ever think of getting one of those lights for people with SAD? My sister has one and it helps her tremendously. Some people don't have the luxury of a Florida trip in the winter! When I have trouble getting something done like folding the clothes, I pick one piece of clothing out of the basket and fold it. Sometimes (not always) that helps rocket me forward and I do another and another. Sometimes not. I hope you feel better soon!

Sounds a lot like my life. I’m religious about my salon appointments every month, it keeps me from feeling like a slob. I’m 8 months pregnant and when I have my baby I’m going to begin tanning again (uv light = therapeutic for the drearies)

Oh and I also agree with Garner, Start an indoor grow room. And put a little table and chairs in there with your UV light. This also will help with mental health

Thanks for all the thoughtful suggestions, friends. @DLynneGarner, the only thing I plant is green beans (pole) in big pots on my front deck. They give me a lot of pleasure, but last year I planted a week too early and we got a frost and I had to bring them all into the house to protect them. I just plant the seeds in the pots. I've never started them indoors. I live in central Virginia. Still a possibility of snow next week, but don't know anything beyond the 10-day forecast. Maybe I'll look on Amazon and see about some seedling supplies.
