Debbie Cousins's Journal, 25 May 21

Day #23 - down a pound. 19 pounds left to go. Total lost for the year 41#. I sure wish I hadn't goofed off all the month of February and April! But, it's water under the bridge. Left me playing catch-up. I thank God that He designed our bodies to be able to fast, and to burn the fat we carry as fuel.

Only cut two bricks yesterday, then the angle grinder broke! Have to buy a new one, but can't afford it this month because our quarterly taxes are due. So thankful that we got those stimulus checks, or we'd really be in a bind - but God has always provided for us! Somehow, even though my husband is Pastor of a VERY small church, God has always enabled us to pay our bills on time. Chances are we'll get an unexpected $50 from somewhere, and it will be just enough to get the angle grinder - God often works that way in our lives.

Green beans are lush and healthy, and they give me a great deal of joy to watch them grow and flourish.

Yesterday, I had TWO 12-oz cans of Diet Coke. No excuse, really, just REALLY wanted the sensation in my mouth of drinking it in a glass of ice through a straw. Can't do that when I'm only drinking one ounce at a time. Planning to only have ONE can again today.

Exercise yesterday was vacuuming the pool, and then brushing the whole bottom. Also sat outside for about a half hour watching my grandson ride around in his John Deer "tractor." He went around picking up fallen branches and loaded them in the back, then put them together to make a "squirrel house."

Today, in addition to running 4 errands, my big goal is to wash each of the vertical posts that make up our front deck and stairs. They won't clean with just spraying them with the hose, but they clean easily if you actually WIPE them. Need to get it done before the beans become so thick that I can't get to the posts.

Up at 3:30am again this morning. Since I'm now only requiring 7-8 hours if sleep a night, instead of 11-12, I guess I'm going to have to start staying up later at night. It's okay with me, though - the more hours I am awake, the more calories are being burned.

Hope everyone has a great Tuesday.
