Debbie Cousins's Journal, 07 Jun 21

Day #36 - down another 1/2 pound this morning. 11.5 pounds left to lose, 20 days to do it. Can it be done? Will I make it? "Weigh in" and let me know what you think.

Factors to consider: I've lost 48.5 pounds so far this year. In these last 20 days, I have "only" lost 10.5 pounds. There have been many days of stall, and even a few where I have gained weight. I do have a colonoscopy on 6/23, which will probably contribute to the total loss, as my system will get completely cleaned out with the procedure prep. I'm motivated. God has been and continues to be enabling me to stay on this fast for the long haul.

So, what's your opinion on whether or not I will get down to 199 on or before June 27th? I welcome all comments, both positive and negative at this point. Here's your chance to say what you've been thinking. Ready? Set? Go!
95.5 kg Lost so far: 22.0 kg.    Still to go: 27.4 kg.    Diet followed: 100%.

You need to make both your anesthesiologist and Dr. aware that you will have been on a 50 day fast prior to the procedure. You seem focused on any bump in weight loss from the prep to win this challenge and have lost sight that there may be a risk to your health and life. God whispered in my ear and asked me to pass on this message.

Definitely possible! Looks like you are pacing at about a 1/2# per day, which puts you right there. More importantly, it doesn't matter. I know hitting your goal deadline is super important and motivating to you. I 100%get it. Wish you to beat it by 10#, cause you've earned that. But all that said, the win was made when you forged the mindset, skills, and habits required to deliver the results you are achieving every single day. You can apply the same whenever you want, to whatever challenge upon which you set your sights, and get results. Nothing can diminish that. Now let's go grind off that last 11.5#!

Goal setting is good. Does it always go that way? Not always, but do not lose hope in the least.

Yes!! Let md & nurses know or will get twice the side effects of. Too much anesthesia! Hopefully you’re doing this all under md care regardless????🍀

Of course, it's possible. Of course, I want you to. I love you and I want your best. But I don't know what that best is. As I read your journal I don't even "WANT" to speculate on whether you actually will go down that much. No one can know that. I believe you are doing everything in your power. I admire that. I also believe you are already a winner. You have already lost most of the weight you wanted to. As long as you don't return to eating sweets, high carbs, and possessed foods you can keep most of it off. As long as you say this is my chance to say what I've been thinking, here goes. But you aren't going to like it. I have been planning for a long time, that if you don't achieve your goal, I am going to send you $100.00 to contribute towards your trip to the water park with your grandkids. I hadn't decided how or if I would hint or ask others to do the same. It's only because I know you well enough to know you will not lessen your effort just because of my (or other's) actions. You may even feel more responsible. That's just you. Okay, so there it is. You are already a winner in my eyes. I don't know if you'll get your (almost $1,400) for your trip. I hope you do. But in the long scheme of things you are one of the biggest winners of all: you get to go to heaven for all eternity, and live happily ever after. And I get to be there with you. Yaaaaaa.

I suggest some clear Gatorade during your prep. Electrolytes are important and yes to Sheila comment.

Debbie, I have no doubt you will do this! It will be close, 1/2 pound a day is possible. I am praying you don't end up in the hospital or worse! Hope you are at least taking vitamins! I lost 80lbs in 60 days years ago, of coarse I was young and put it all back on and more. God Speed!!

Good idea, @sheilabutler428, about letting the doctor and anesthesiologist know about the fasting before I have the procedure done! Thanks for that. @Snowwhite100, we'll be able to take the trip whether or not I win the challenge. It's only in Williamsburg (about 40 miles from us), and I've already paid for the room and park admission (about $350). Anything from the challenge would just give us more splurge money (like eating in their restaurant, or things like that). Thank you for your kind offer, but I must insist that you not send me any money (and I wouldn't want anyone else to, either). We don't "need" the money I will win in the challenge, but it would be a wonderful blessing! @crazycatchick, thank you so much for your concern, and for sharing it with me. @jimmiepop, what an encouraging message! I really appreciate it! @Shrewdness, @Erq1, @justinpendill2, @Rance2021, thank you all for taking the time to respond! Oh, and yes, my doctor is aware that I'm on an extended fast and supports me. I plan to go back to him when the fast is completed and get fully checked out.

@Dennymau, so good to hear from you! Where ya been? I'm not taking any vitamins because most of them work in conjunction with food to be absorbed. I AM taking Magnesium, and getting in some salt to stave off dehydration (even though I'm drinking about three quarts of water a day).

Vitamins B & C are water-soluble, and do not need to be taken with food. There are enough positives to taking these supplements and so many diseases associated with their deficiency. I have a hard time believing that your doctor did not insist on you taking B & C during your fast. Please ask him ASAP, Debbie. He may be assuming that you've been taking a multivitamin this whole time.

Make sure healthy wage accepts your weight and acknowledges the win. I had read reviews in the past and remember one person, in particular, saying that she had turned in the video weight or whatever and then "celebrated" a bit and gained and was told it was being reviewed.

I just had a colonoscopy a while ago and lost over 5 pounds just in that 48 hours. You got this!😁

Debbie, I have not spoken recently because I have serious concerns about your fast. Wishing you all the best. 💜

Good Luck on reaching your goal, but make sure you are staying healthy trying to get there. I know we're all striving to get to Onederland, but to get there and then be sick isn't winning. Fingers crossed for a clean colonoscopy. I meet my NEW GI tomorrow, so will be getting one myself soon, if all goes well.

Congrats on your loss and cheering you on to a spectacular finish!

PS, the reason I'm having a colonoscopy (every 2-3 years) is because my sister had colon cancer. Fortunately, it was successfully removed with no need for chemo or radiation.
