Debbie Cousins's Journal, 17 Jun 21

Day 1,487 - well it seems like it. Actually, Day 47. Down 1/2 pound this morning. Only 5 pounds to goal now. Possible glitch: my son brought up his digital scale so I could compare it to my doctor-style scale (with the weights to move). This morning, his scale is weighing 0.6 pounds HIGHER than mine! On my scale I'm 204. On his, it's 204.6. That could be a problem! The final weigh-in video has to be made using a digital scale. Tomorrow, I may try sitting it in a different place on the floor, and see if that makes a difference. I sure don't want to have to lose an additional 6/10ths of a pound to make my goal!

Yesterday, I just took it easy - didn't leave the house except to help my husband take off the pool cover so he could put some chemicals in it. It needs cleaning, but I'm not going to do it until time for the grandkids to get back.

Did a LOT of cooking for my husband yesterday. Made an Instant Pot "Cheesecake #17" which looks delicious. I gave my son & DIL a couple of slices. My husband is having that with cherry pie filling on top. I also cooked a 3-lb. pork roast in the Instant Pot. I used this marinade packet where you put the roast in a bag for awhile. It was peppercorn flavored and very spicy when you get a bite of the outside of the roast - but my husband likes it. And, I made a huge salad - I hadn't made him any salad since I've been on the fast. Then, on the easier side, I heated up some Bob Evans Mashed Potatoes and made a packet of pork gravy.

With all that standing, my back was bothering me quite a bit. It's feeling better this morning.

I have physical therapy today. I still feel like I'm only functioning at about 76-82% today. I'll just to have to tell the therapist if it gets to be too much for me. The GOOD NEWS is ... I'll be back to "normal" in about ten days!!! Hooray! Gotta get these ole knees in shape, though, because only 5 weeks until our Great Wolf Lodge trip! Even with 8 weeks of PT behind me then, I think it will be a real challenge to climb 6 flights of stairs and to try to get up from only being 18" from the ground (in water at the end of the slide).

Thanks so much to the scores of people who have followed me on this journey and have taken the time to Support or give comments of encouragement! I truly appreciate it, and am humbled by all the kindness bestowed on me. I feel like I've got a grandstand of "fans" cheering me on to the finish line!

Well, you certainly would have had a harder time climbing those 6 flights with the extra 60 lbs that you've lost. That's a big load off - congratulations!

Thanks for the perspective, @erikahollister! Yes, there would have been NO WAY I could have done it at 259! Even after my 6/27 deadline, I still have until July 22nd to lose some more (hopefully).

I too am praying for you. Am so glad you were down today. Please read INF's journal of today but more important is her comment of explanation. Processed food including artificial sweeteners are deadly. I was so tempted today to buy diet soda at the store today as I was walking down their aisle. I was hot and thirsty but was able to say no to myself. It's a tough thing. I have compassion for you, since I want them too.

Try Zevia. It's sweetened with Stevia which is natural and not harmful. I like it.

aww, @debratrachta anderson - I can't thank you enough for your daily prayers! I'm glad you look forward to my daily posts. I feel like I get pretty wordy sometimes! @Snowwhite100, your prayers, as always, are deeply appreciated! @LilBitCrunchy, I can't claim any credit for the persistence - this is totally a "God thing!" There's no way, without His help, that I could stay on a fast for 48 days! In and of myself, I'm not a very persistent, or disciplined, person. The REAL test will be when I go back to eating! That's where the rubber will meet the road!

Make sure you weigh naked!! Clothes make a difference! No matter what you are awesome.

Unfortunately, @Dennymau, for my final weigh-in, I have to submit a video, and have to have on one layer of clothes, LOL. I might shave my legs though - maybe that will lighten me up some!
