After 13 years living as nomads on the road in a fifth wheeler then a lovely motorhome, we finally need to settle; health issues beat us all eventually. We are staying in caravan parks around our chosen area and learning our way around. We sold our house of 30 years because of uncontrolled juvenile crime and will live 1,100 km or 650 miles south of there, which to us is cold country. Today I will join the local library and writers' group, steps toward being community members. Settlement for the new place is early August so we can't organize tradesmen to quote on painting, floors, etc. until the current owners have gone. Fallout from the Chinese virus apparently means most tradies are booked 12 months in advance so I'll attempt to use experienced handypeople instead. We are both very stressed and pretending otherwise, but huge amounts of wine and carb foods have crept into our diet. This morning's weight is a wake-up call. I need to organize: time, proper meals, exercise such as walking, knitting instead of drinking alcohol and heaps of sleep. I have gained 3kg since we made the decision to settle and it needs to come off immediately. If I try really hard, I might drop that weight before we move in. The good thing about staring at the same scene every day (sigh) is that there will be an area to set up our own exercise space so I'll be dusting off the Pilates video. Thanks for listening to my rant.
