First day of winter, yahoo!! 👍💃

We’re doing a white elephant gift exchange at work today.
I made a Covid Emergency gift box with funny animal masks, cold ice bag for your head, a thermometer, Pepto-Bismol, Cold-EEZE, cough drops, all in a spider terrarium gift box, which is a joke box. It looks like they are getting a Spider Terrarium. 😄
We’ll see how much it gets past around. 😁
Then I am bringing a huge bowl of guacamole for potluck. Everybody liked it last time, and it’s expensive to make. The huge bowl was bone dry when I brought it home last time.
Plus, I am bringing a huge container of cookies all different kinds, they all look homemade, but I didn’t make any, my oven is broke.😢
Needless to say, I’m going to try to be very good, and will make myself weigh in tomorrow.🥺
On top of all this there’s a big report I want to get done today, I got one done yesterday, so I feel better not so crappy today.😊 I think not having slept was the problem.
I was a Grinch yesterday, but I do like the band, The Who!😄

Welcome Mildred, to our FS family!🌺 I am not a very good example to follow lately, especially with today being the Christmas pot luck.🙃 Guacamole is in the refrigerator now, and I can lose the top part if it’s browning, for I have extra. Have a Wonderful Wednesday and I am hoping to be good today (somewhat).😁

Oh Sweetness, I hope your guac didn't turn brown, but if it does, just say it's celebrating it's ethnic heritage and that it's brown and proud! ✊😁😉

Brown guacamole pretty much tastes the same as green. I usually squeeze the lemon on last after mixing and putting the guac in a bowl, then mix it in when serving. That keeps the top from getting brown. Some people also have luck with putting plastic wrap pressed on the top of the mix to keep out the air too.

This won’t help for the potluck, but if you put it in a bag and squeeze out all the air, it keeps longer without going brown. You can then cut a single corner of and squeeze it out and it won’t go brown. Air is the enemy.

Abbadabba, I think brown guacamole tastes the same also, but as a dish your bringing, it just can’t be served that way.😞
Since I was at work there wasn’t any plastic wrap.🥴
A gal said to wet paper towels and put it on top. That worked somewhat and I had extra guac at home so The day was saved. Thanks!👍🎄

Katsolo, I made a huge container, like over a gallon, for everyone loves it. The container probably weighed 7lbs or more. I couldn’t keep the enemy out. But, as a gal said, I wet paper towels and pressed it against the guac and it helped a lot. The top still turned a little brown, so I scraped it out and made some fresh and mixed it in and it was like new, yahoo. Container was bone dry when I left work, so people gobbled it up. Was expensive to make, but easy as a pot luck item. No cooking involved. Thank you though. I am known for baking, but never mastered the frosting in a tube you squeeze out. 😞 Too tedious anyway.
