Debbie Cousins's Journal, 20 Jan 22

Sigh. The drama continued into yesterday. Within 20 minutes of my son getting home with his step-son, they were having a very heated screaming match downstairs. I found out from my husband last night that on Tuesday night my son had brought up his gun and given it to him because he's so tired of the drama and chaos that he was afraid he would use it on himself. He's only 34.

I'm so glad that when we remodeled the basement for him to live in, we put soundproofing in the basement ceiling. We only hear things from down there if they are REALLY loud!

Just writing about this is making me get tensed up again. That's why God made muscle relaxers, right?

On a brighter note, I bought myself a new purse on Amazon. I transferred all my stuff into it last night, and I will be taking it with me when I go to do my jobs this morning. It is just a small little purse - kind of like a clutch, but with a wrist strap. It has places for my credit cards, cash, and a couple of zippers. I don't buy stuff for myself often, but my other one was at the point where the strap was about to break, and I was afraid I'd lose it. I actually dreamt this morning that I DID lose my purse, and that it had my phone in it, and I was frantically looking for it everywhere. I also dreamt that I fixed an overflowing toilet and washed a ton of dishes. Thankfully, the toilet here is fine, but my sink is still full of dishes from last night. I really ENJOY dreaming -- it is like free movies.

OK, I need to either go out and do my jobs now or tackle those dishes. It is supposed to start raining here at 9am, and then it will snow from 11am until about 7pm tonight.

That household drama does sound intense. I hope that some loving resolution can grow.

Great about the soundproofing! It's probably saved your sanity. I avoid drama at all costs so I understand the stress. Hopefully you'll have a more peaceful day. 💕

Poor baby!!! That is scary drama! The thing is when they’re having a screaming match they’re getting their emotions out and then they settle down but then it’s on you because you took it all in. That’s why it’s better to not even hear it because then you carry it with you. Enjoy your day, even though it will be raining and snowing. Wow, you can’t win - you even lose the purse you love in your dreams. Dream but dream of something not so frantic!🙃 Blessings, you could use a few!!!🌺

Wow! I'm so impressed you lost weight. I know how difficult it is to lose weight when you're stressed. I hope things get better for you.

Oh, what a blessing it is that your son was smart to bring his gun to your husband. I hope and pray that things get better for all of you. You do have an overflowing "toilet" in your basement and of course, you desire to fix it: impossible. I know you are praying for all of them and want their best. I'm sorry you have to have this in your house. Loved your analogy: free movies. Do you only dream in black and white? Most people do.

@Snowwhite100, I dream in full, living color! I've known that since 8th grade, when I dreamt about my teacher in her peach-colored dress. Thank you, everyone for your encouragement. Will write more in my next post.
