Debbie Cousins's Journal, 25 Mar 22

Ate way too much salt yesterday - a 2-oz container of salted peanuts, about the same amount of salted cashews, Country Ham biscuit (one slice of country ham)! I could see/feel the water retention in my fingers this morning. Knees also hurting, which is sign of inflammation. Off to a bad start again today, and it will be worse tonight when I dive into those tortilla chips with the guacamole.

Walking went well yesterday (1.5 miles). Today, I'm shooting for an even higher number by walking for TWO/TENTHS of a mile after each 30-minute break. It still only takes less than five minutes to do that distance, and the total will add up twice as fast. Progress!

Drinking four 8-oz bottles of water between 6am-10am and another ten between 10am-2pm is working well for me. By stopping at 2, I haven't had the getting-up-during-the-night-five-times problem. I have some Diet Coke when I first wake up (my "coffee" equivalent), I also like to have it WITH my meals. Between 2pm and when I go to bed at 5, I have some more - but I've been able to keep it right at 2-liters for a couple of days now.

I'm pleased with where I am right now, but I'd like to lose 20-50 pounds. I actually don't want to get back down to 170, because it made me look so OLD. When I'm fat, I don't have any wrinkles in my face. When I lose that much weight, I have lots of them. Maybe if I lose the weight REALLY slowly, it won't take such a toll on my appearance. We'll see. For now, I'm just trying to ADD healthy things into my WOE, and not so concerned with taking things OUT of it.

Hope everyone has a great day. Here's a prayer for ya: "Dear Lord, I pray that You would bless each person reading this post, and that you'd give them the motivation and determination they need to have a successful day. Curb their appetites, calm their food cravings, quiet the little voices that try to tempt them into eating things that are unhealthy for them. Give them a truly BLESSED day! In Jesus' Name, Amen"

Debbie, your posts are SO inspiring and full of hope! I am so glad you have found those audiobooks and they have made such an impact on your journey! I'm gonna try to get them too. LOVE how you said you're trying to ADD healthy things into your WOE, rather than focus on taking things OUT of it! What a game changer!!💙🙏👍👏
