Got in my 8 cups of water today. I have a little four-bottle carrying carton from my husband's 12-oz Frostie Orange drinks. Each morning, I put four bottles of water in the carton, and I take it with me when I go out to do my jobs. When I have to go to the farther store, I'm able do drink all four bottles by the time I get home. Took four more with me to church. Thanks to my husband's long-windedness, I was able to drink the other four then.

In spite of throbbing knees, I ended up walking 8/10 of a mile yesterday, and I'm at 9/10 so far today. Walked to and from church this morning. Sounds more impressive than it is -- we live in the church parsonage, lol - but it's 300 steps round trip. That's something, right?

Thanks to the generosity of some church folks, we have a bunch of Cracker Barrel gift cards. After church today, I used one to get "lunch" for my husband and myself - We ate the pancakes and hash brown casserole for lunch today, and tomorrow for breakfast, we will eat the eggs & bacon on a toasted sandwich.

I really need to eat fewer breakfasts. I usually have two or even three of them! I wake up sometime in the middle of the night (usually between midnight and 3am) and have a slice of Dave's Killer Good Seed Bread toasted with about 1-1/2 Tbsp. of butter on it. Then, I wake up again about 5am and have another slice and go back to bed. Finally, I get up to do my jobs at 7, and have a third slice, and when I get home from doing the jobs, I might have a bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios with a sliced banana and milk on it. YIKES! That's FOUR breakfasts sometimes!

I was disappointed to learn today what an actual "serving" of fruit is! I thought sure a large banana would be TWO servings, but the thing I read online says it is only ONE serving. I thought half a cup of baby lima beans would be one serving, but a serving is a whole cup. I was also surprised to learn that EIGHT strawberries is a serving - I thought it would be more like four good sized ones. For most people, I suppose the larger servings would be GOOD news; but, I'm trying to get in 5 servings of fruits/vegetables - and this will definitely make it more challenging. At least I get in that banana at breakfast!
