Debbie Cousins's Journal, 04 Sep 22

Woohoo! Down 6/10 of a pound this morning from 240.8 to 240.2. If that weight holds until tomorrow, I will have lost TWO POUNDs for the week! That's the most I've lost in a week, except those first two weeks when I had just started drinking water and limiting Diet Coke.

As I was telling deeboxer this morning, sometimes I feel guilty about praying SO much about my weight-loss. I pray for every bowel movement and then thank the Lord when I have one. I pray every time I get up during the night (3-4 times) to pee that I will pass enough urine to bring my weight down to at least where it was the day before. I pray for His strength to resist every temptation. I thank Him for everything I eat and drink. Before I came along, God had probably never heard so MANY prayers about Dave's Killer Good Seed Bread! LOL.

On the serious side, though, the Bible tells us to, "Cast all your cares upon Him, for He careth for you." And it says to, "pray without ceasing." If you haven't thought about praying for your weight loss, maybe now's the time to give it a try. What have you got to lose (except some unwanted pounds). God's ears are always attentive to our cries.

Yesterday was the hardest day I've had in the 10 weeks of dieting. From the moment I woke up at 4:30, I was BORED. Whenever I'm bored, I want to eat! I wanted to eat ALL day. Thankfully, the Lord gave me the strength to resist the many temptations that came into my mind and stick to my diet plan for the day. Whew! Glad that day is over!

I need to increase my activity level! Besides doing the dishes and making lunch for my husband, I spend almost 100% of my time in my recliner.

OH, my husband, who has been sick for a week and a half, really wanted some fresh coconut cake and the only way I could get him some was to buy a whole cake! I'm happy to report that, even though it has been in the house for five days, I haven't had a slice. I will admit to licking the knife after I cut it, lol. I'm so thankful that he didn't want carrot cake or German chocolate cake. I don't think I could have resisted having a slice (or three, or four) if those were around. He was very considerate about it, though. He asked me, "Which would be less of a temptation to you to have in the house, a coconut cake or (I can't remember what the other thing was)." I thought I'd have more of a chance on resisting the coconut cake. That bugger has 386 calories in 1/18th of a cake. I cut the cake into 16 slices. An 18th isn't even feasible because it would have fallen apart.

OK, that's my report for today. Happy Sunday everyone. I'm sure the Lord would love to see you in His house this morning, and I'm sure any church would be glad to have you join them!
