Debbie Cousins's Journal, 06 Sep 22

Had a good day at the pool with my grandson yesterday. I didn't keep him quite as long as I usually do, only 4-1/2 hours. Toward the end, at the house, he started getting on my nerves because he wouldn't put away something I asked him to and he wouldn't put on his shoes after being told several times. I lost my patience for a minute and raised my voice, which got him moving, but I wish I would remember BEFORE incidents like that, that I am the adult, and it's not him who "makes" me get angry, it's my own doing.

Today, we're going to attempt to clean the pool solar cover on both sides. There's a chance for rain, which we're praying will hold off, because we'll need to get it completely dry after we scrub it, before rolling it up and put it in storage for the year.

We're planning to actually get the pool CLOSED on Thursday. It will be a very busy day, and I pray that it's accomplishable! I have a hematologist appointment at 10:30, I have to take my grand daughter home from school at 3:05, and sometime in there, we've got to try to do all that closing the pool entails. Hmmm. Today is only Tuesday. Maybe I should reschedule the bloodwork for another day. Yes, I think that is what I'll do. It's nothing urgent - I just have to go every six months to keep my Ferritin levels in check. Every few years or so, I have to get an iron infusion when it is low.

I got up a little early this morning (4am - usually 4:30 or 5) because I need to do some cooking before we start on the pool. Need to cook carrots in the InstantPot, sautee some mushrooms and onions, and (after I go to the store) make some Parsleyed Potatoes - all to go with a pre-cooked roast I got at BJ's. The brand is Jay's Epicurean Kitchen, and you should definitely try it if you run across it. It is rather expensive ($18), but my husband and I each get at least three meals from it, and it has lots of gravy with the roast. Occasionally, there is a little fat in it, but most of the time it is completely lean, and always fork-tender!

OK, almost 6am already. I've done my two days of Bible reading, done all my Fat Secret stuff, and had breakfast. Time to get in the kitchen!

Have a good day!

our stories seem so similarly related. My highest 312, RNY to 157 now at 212. Covid, no exercise, compression fx on 2 vertebrae now attempting again. Depression sinks in and God does not want me depressed. Weight doesn't come back in mussel but flab and I am still not really capable of much. I will pray for you, will you pray for me? Ecclesiastics says patience is better than quitting.... Something like that.

Yes, likat, I will pray for you too. Thank you so much for the prayers, especially tomorrow when we have all the pool work to do.
