Debbie Cousins's Journal, 17 Sep 22

Down into the 237's this morning, PTL. 237.8. I just realized (after three months), that my weight has never registered as an odd number on my scale. It's always something .0, .2, .4, .6, or .8. Weird! It must be the way my scale is set up. If I can lose 2/10 of a pound more by Monday, my weight will be down two pounds for the week. That will be the biggest weekly loss I have had since starting! WOOHOO!!!!

Yesterday, I wanted to eat ALL day! I managed to finish the day with 1,636 calories, though, which was within my target range of 1,500's and 1,600's.

Today, I'm debating on the possibility of taking my grandson to the pool (last day it is open for the season). If I do, I'll have two ham biscuits for lunch, which is only 240 calories. If I don't, I might get my husband the Cracker Barrel Pork Chop dinner he has been wanting to try, and I will get the Homestyle Chicken and eat one of the two breasts today and the other one tomorrow. I'll have their green beans and some of the carrots I already have cooked here. Total for lunch will be 447.

Yesterday, I had a pretty productive day. I put a bunch of small things on my To Do List, and I accomplished them all. Our church is going to have a yard sale in October to make money toward a new riding lawn mower. I found four cow-themed things that have been sitting at the back of the shelving unit in the kitchen because there is no room to display them. I washed them and put them in the box I started for yard sale contributions. There's nothing else I want to sell on those shelves, so next I will head to one of our junk rooms and start packing up things in there (once I clear a path to be able to get INTO the room! We have hundreds of Christian and wholesome VHS tapes already in boxes. I don't know if they'll sell, but at least I can finally get rid of them. I know there is a printer in there that worked the last time I used it many years ago. Lots of work ahead in the next several weeks to purge that room.

Debating on whether to get busy around here or go back to bed for another hour. I did that yesterday morning, and it made the day not seem as long as it usually does.

Hope everyone has a great Saturday. Oh, maybe instead of taking my grandson to the pool I will take him to this event being held at a local park today. The fire department will be there with a thing where kids can hold fire hoses and aim at a cardboard "burning building" and shoot water into the windows. Also a hayride. I wouldn't be able to get into that, with my knees, but maybe my twin friends would go with us, and they could take him on that. Hmmm. Once again, "decisions, decisions!"

I luv purging 'stuff' that no longer serves a function. Because it's just unnecessary 'weight' that no one needs anymore! Have fun with it. Have a great Saturday :-)

It's a good tactic that you're planning ahead for the day in terms of food and calories 👍 It's so easy to let things get out of control with food outside the home. Great job! 😁

To do lists really helped me get things done. I've been taking lots of things to the thrift store planning on eventually moving to a smaller house. Ham biscuits sound good for lunch!

keep up the good work Debbie. I went from 286 to 160 with gastric bypass in 2014. Kept it off until 2019 when I broke my femur and lost my job and started each junk all day Went back to 199 but after my pity party got back to the gym and eating right and keeping below 150 and trying to get to 130 if possible. Never give up!

You are doing good planning ahead. Our church had a big sale a couple of years ago. I got there late but there were many (MANY!) VHS tapes. Since we use them at our cabin (and even our house) since we aren't there enough to warrant paying for cable up there, I asked what price I could have them for if I bought them all, since no one else wanted them. They said ten cents each. I went for it. Years before I had paid up to a dollar, and the thrift stores still sell them for about 1.99 but no more at private sales. Only people with young children have a player and they only want the professional kiddy ones. I can still rerecord mine but we can't even buy a new recorder anymore. Almost all the used ones on E-bay still play but don't record, although I did buy a used one last year that still records.

My scale is the same either 0,2,4,6,8 increments. Every scale I have had has been like that but I always get the cheap ones.

My scale is the same. I paid around $40. a couple of years ago at Walmart.
